Making America sane again in a terminally insane world

The American people for most of their history have been living in a bubble of sanity in a terminally insane world. Even today, the sane people still remaining in America tend to think the world should want the Christian ethics and morality that our nation was founded on. That is not the reality. Most of the world wants secular humanism and cultural Marxism.

The foundational truths of Christianity made America the most sane and prosperous nation on earth. Even so, it appears that most people in America have started thinking like the terminally insane world. That is what happens when people stop fearing God. They are soon given over to a reprobate mind.

Most Americans have moved outside the Christian morality sanity bubble and have now chosen to dwell in the terminally insane world system. We see this in our educational system with the fake science and the decadence being taught as truth. The insanity is also evident in the growing criminal population. That includes both the criminals in prison and those criminals that should be in prison but are running the asylum. We also see that this insanity increasingly prevailing in the culture of “anything goes except anything founded on what the Bible teaches. Our nation collectively now has a problem determining what is good from what is evil.

The sanity in America largely came from her Christian foundations. Now that the foundation is crumbling the whole house will soon collapse. Christians in America should not be surprised at what they see happening. When churches removed the Bible as the foundation for Christianity and inserted worldly doctrines of men, the results became predictable. American Christianity is now much like the church at Laodicea.

Rev 3:14   And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

The Laodicean Church became wealthy and worldly. They lived in false security because they were high on a hill and rich by the standards of the world. However, Jesus informed them that they were poor spiritually. They were living in the flesh instead of walking in the spirit. The letter to Laodicea could have been written to most Christians in America today. Two-thirds of those claiming to be born again believers do not even believe what the Bible says on critical salvation issues. The vast majority of Christians in America do not have a Christian worldview.

It really should not surprise true Christians that we live in a terminally insane world. The Bible makes it quite clear that sin has brought insanity into the world and that there is no human remedy. Man in the flesh is corrupted, is without God, and is condemned. The natural mind will only lead the world down the path to destruction. That is why God sent Jesus. He is the only way mankind can escape the corruption caused by sin, the flesh and the Devil.

Even non Christians should see that we are living in a terminally insane world. The history of the world should make the insanity abundantly clear. The people in the world have continually been demonstrating their depravity and insanity throughout its history. No peace on the earth ever lasts for long, there is always more murder, another war, another rebellion, another revolution, and another counter-revolution. Nothing has changed over thousands of years except man has now developed the means to destroy the whole planet through man-made weapons of mass destruction (WND).

With the world’s insane history, what sane person could even think that man will suddenly become peaceful instead of actually using those WMD in anger one day? Just, look at world conditions today. After the war to end all wars (WWI), after WWII, after the Age of Aquarius peace movement, and after countless wars and rumors of wars since, do you actually see any indication that the world is progressing toward peace? The world used the acronym MAD in the cold war era because the mutually assured destruction they were contemplating was mad. That madness was not annulled just because the Soviet Union collapsed.

Even if all nations give up their nuclear weapons today, what makes anyone think that humans would not just create even deadlier weapons to use against each other in the future?  Besides nuclear weapons, countries are now actively developing laser weapons, plasma weapons, biological weapons and non nuclear explosives that bring as much destruction as nuclear bombs.

So, knowing that man is insane, why do some Christians think that we are going to make a utopia on earth before Jesus returns and cuts off evil doers from the earth? Why do some Christians in America expect to bring Christian morality back to a people that have chosen to abandon it? How can we make America sane again if the people love their insanity?

Christians are to be salt and light to the world. The salt and the light is not given to the world so people can live fat and happy lives in their corrupted flesh. The salt gives the cure for people to escape corruption of their flesh and the light removes the darkness that keeps them from seeing, believing and being born of the Spirit. We Christians should know that people who love the sins of the flesh will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. We must be born of the Spirit; we must all be changed (1 Co 15:50).

The world is a terminally insane place. Christians should not have unrealistic expectations that they are somehow going to cure this terminal insanity by peddling social justice for rotting minds. We are now seeing the conditions that the Bible describes as occurring in the last days. As Christians, we can try to influence things for the better in the world. However, we should know the end will come as written in spite of any Christian efforts.

In other words, if you really believe we are in the end times why do you think that Christians will actually restore America to biblical morality by just electing new leaders? The only real hope for America is through the gospel. Only the conversion of many Americans to Christ will make America sane again.

You’re on fire this week! Don.
And thanks for bringing these older, updated post’s to us all. They are more relevant today, than ever.

I’ve been saying for years, that it seemed unproductive to fight against God’s ultimate plans. But, that does not mean we give up all together. There are still things we Christians can do that make a difference now. Such as you, Don, taking up blogging again, and updating, editing, and making it easier for people to access the site. Not all are called to the same good works. Not all are good evangelist, and some should refrain until they can be effective. But, a review of gifts might be in order to help us identify our own calling, if not readily obvious.

Good article Don! Much of this world is definitely Laodicean-minded… I would like to add some focus to the following portion of the letter to Laodicea… “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

I’ve seen many self-identified Christians find comfort in this passage and relate it to the “…seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you…” passage from the Sermon on the Mount, but they must not understand what the context of this Revelation passage is. What tends to get overlooked is the fact that if Jesus is “standing at the door knocking”, then he is on the OUTSIDE trying to get INSIDE… He’s saying that Laodiceans (past and present) are not hearing his voice and opening the door for him. Unfortunately, this is the current state of many self-identified Christians today. They “do church” and claim they are Christians, but yet Jesus is standing outside the door…

I hope America can find God again, and stay allies of Israel, but I feel that a good deal of our federal government is demonically possessed at the present moment.

Thanks again for your article Don!

    Hi David L,

Just to be clear for others, I am not re-posting all the still relevant articles or the best articles of my old blog. The articles that are in the top 120 on the sidebar and the articles written in the last year of the old blog will not be re-posted here. People need to go to my old blog to read my top articles on many issues. My old blog can be found from the top bar. There also are articles on my main website that are on neither blog.

  4. David L says:

Sorry Don, I mistook what you had said in a couple recent posts. And this at the bottom of this article above.
Editor note: This is a modified version of my article of March 30, 2010. It was posted on my old blog.

That’s why I thought you were updating a few relevant articles. Perhaps reposting was not a good choice of words on my part.

  5. Don Koenig says:

    Hi David,

My point was that these posts are only a small part of the still relevant articles originally posted on my old blog. Most of the top 120 on my old blog have more to say than these.

What I am actually doing is modifying about 15 articles from my old blog that are still relevant and for some reason did not make the top 120 list on my old blog.

Most likely they were not downloaded much because they could not be found through a Google search. So, I have changed the titles and the keywords and modified the articles somewhat. These are still relevant articles buried deep in the old blog so few would find them and none would be able to comment on them because comments are not opened on the old blog.

If I was just updating articles, I would leave the articles where they are but I really see no point in updating old blog articles. The comments there would not match what I might have first said.

  6. David L says:

OK thanks for clearing that up, I appreciate all the effort you go to keeping all of it going.

“As Christians we can try to influence things for the better in the world.”

I’m not disagreeing with anything in this article but I started with a quote from it because I wanted to know what Don and all think about the bible study led by Capital Ministries founder Ralph Drollinger that some top Trump officials are attending.

I didn’t know who Drollinger was and I wanted to know what he might be teaching. I’m still not exactly sure but I didn’t see much I disagreed with in the information I found. The liberals hate him.

I agree that electing new leaders won’t save people but it might save our country a while longer if our leaders look to God’s Word for wisdom in decision making. (No democrats were attending the bible study.)

I’m still grateful to be in America and not in the countries of my ancestors; England, Sweden, Germany or France where life has become unlivable.

  8. Don Koenig says:

    Hi Caitlin,

He seems to have a biblical worldview and that is rare these days.

  9. David L says:

    Caitlin,

Great find! This guys bio reads like a true Believer, and one who is not afraid to say so. I’ve just scratched the surface, but I thought you might be interested in his free book: Rebuilding America.
There is a contact order form here:
    https://capmin.org/about/administration/ralph-drollinger-biography/

Now, this may interest Don, I know it certainly peeked my interest. Seems Drollinger had his commission from none other the Grace Community Church, in Sun Valley California. Yes, that’s right, John MacArthur’s church. And there were more than a few members working for the ministry that Ralph started in 1996, yet it seems they may have tried to take over this lucrative endeavor. When they quit, they started a competing ministry, and attacked Drollinger, making what sounds like false accusations, but in reality, it was they who were the evil ones. However, they succeeded in rescinding his commission from the church. Meaning their endorsement as a sending church. I’m not shocked by the people who tried to ruin Drollinger, as I suspect they are, or were rich, greedy businessmen, who took advantage of the opportunities to rub elbows with those in power.

It’s amazing this guy has access to Trump, even if limited, surely he could influence him to some degree. A thousand times better than the group of heretics who have been hangers on.

  10. David L says:

    Caitlin, Don & all,

I found the download page for the book if you would rather have it in electronic format.
    https://capmin.org/download-rebuilding-nation/

The site map page is loaded with information. The statement of Faith page is just what it should be, Biblical. Oh yah, VP Mike Pence is the one responsible for bringing this Bible study to the whitehouse cabinet, as I suspected. Nice!

  11. Marj says:

    Hi Don,
After I read this article it brought me back thinking what happened when I was born again and outspoken.
Then for years I was ridiculed, told to shut up divorced from church family and friends I thought I had and finally I was silent/ silenced.Last year I retired from work/pushed out.
I decided on my first day of that era that I would live the rest of my days to get to know God for who He is.with my self image destroyed over the years I was blown over totally when God showed me where He wanted me.It was Ps 23 and I lay down first I did not know how to do that either because I had worked so hard but when I determently obeyed it was from that place He has reconstructed my life.
One day as I was ready to go for a walk doing up me shoelaces He spoke to me and said:From me to you there is No condemnation.
I centered in on that word to me.I realized that over the years I had become adjusted to my place in society and had learned to exist like that.
Then 10 days later the Lord again spoke to me.It was 4 o’clock in the morning and I woke up startled and could not go back to sleep after He said: You are clothed in My righteousness.
What an amazing sentence and when I studied on the truth of those words I felt the possibility of being able to defend my self to others.I dropped that invitation as soon as it came.
Now 8 months later He spoke to me again and said I am His ambassador. And He said that He will call His Ambassadors to Himself before the war starts.
This last word is recent and I would appreciate your comment.
    Kind regards Marj.

  12. Don Koenig says:

    Marj,

After the prophets and the apostles laid the foundations with the revealed written word of God any claims of further revelation or private revelation from God are not reliable.

  13. Marj says:

    Hi Don,
I want to thank you for your reply.
    Thank you for your time.
    Kind regards Marj.

  14. David L says:

    Marj,

I think many believers have a one time or another, thought they were hearing directly from God. Then, when things did not turn out as they thought, experience disappointment, or worse. The problem, is, there is way too much confirmation bias out there, especially online. I admit, that early in my walk, I too thought these stray thoughts that popped into my head were God’s directions or advice. But after years of studying God’s Word, it became clear that everything we need to know about how to live this life, is in his Word alone. That’s where He speaks to us, and from where we are lead. Times of stress make us vulnerable to begin with. Not knowing just what to do only makes it worse. But I’ve learned, that eventually, a person comes to a decision only after acquiring enough relevant information over time. Then, the moment of clarity could seem as though it was Divine inspiration. But really, it was the culmination of thought processes. These days, believers should be even more careful, because the enemy and his minions are ever present.

  15. Marj says:

    David L,
Thank you for your input.I do appreciate it.
Indeed there is so much activity coming from so many different church groups/denominations ect. Plus the fact that the Bible says that the heart of mankind is continual bend towards evil.
Yes there is a tremendous amount of thoughts locally and on the internet vying for attention to either take away from or add to the Bible. So great care must be taken to believe only what is written in the Bible
Only with Gods Mercy through the blood price paid by Jesus and the Promised Teacher and Councillor’s help will I make it to the finish line.
I thank you for your care,
    Marj
