I suggest that you don’t put all your eggs in the Donald Trump will make America great again basket. Enemies foreign or domestic are still a grave threat to America. The enemies of America will now double up on their efforts to take America down.
I see three grave threats to America over the next couple of years. Keep in mind that the unforeseen can and usually does happen.
- Assassination of our top leaders
- A nuclear event by Islamic terrorists
- Enemies foreign or domestic taking down America’s power grid
I know some might think that I should also have included an economic collapse. However, I really do not think that will occur in the next couple of years. For globalists to take America down economically, the whole world economy would also have to go under. I do not think most globalists want that to happen right now.
1. Donald Trump and Mike Pence should no longer appear together at the same place. I do not believe that enemies foreign or domestic would even attempt to take out Trump unless they could also take out Pence. Mike Pence’s conservative Christian worldview is Trump’s insurance policy. Therefore, the many enemies of conservative nationalism might conspire to take out Trump and Pence at the same time so they get the globalist Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, into the White House.
2. On the issue of nuclear terrorism, I think Iran already has a couple of nukes. We know that Pakistan has scores of nuclear weapons. Nuclear material could be given to Islamic terrorists. That will become even more likely when Iran pulls out of the nuclear deal (you can count on that). You might also keep in mind that North Korea and Iran are in bed together.
A nuclear explosion or dirty bomb explosion in a large city in the United States is not going to bring America down but the war against radical states sponsoring such terrorists might bring about a clash of civilizations. It would even bring China and Russia into the equation.
3. The gravest threat I see in the next couple of years is enemies foreign or domestic taking down our power grid. It is just too easy to do. It could be done by electromagnetic pulse weapons (EMP), sabotage to transformers yards or a cyber attack. A grid down situation would take America down to third world nation status in a matter of weeks. In a number of months, it could reduce the population of the United States by more than 50 percent.
I wrote about the danger of an EMP a decade ago but nothing has been done even though the experts keep sounding the alarm to Congress. I also wrote about the danger of a cyber attack. Even our government admits that such an attack is just a matter of time. Some think the answer to the cyber threat is in our ability to attack any perpetrators in response. Nevertheless, we have much more infrastructure to lose than they do. .
America seems to have a death wish. America’s leaders know about the danger of a grid down event but they do nothing about the vulnerability of our grid. Nothing gets through the Senate because the power generation lobby knows that it will cost them money. Most of MSM does not even seem to care. Although Ted Koppel and PBS have sounded the alarm.
Quite a few people in America do not live in reality. Many are delusional people just living for today. They think America will just go on the way it always has since the day that they were born. They do not even know American history. America has had a violent past and it will have a violent end if people in America continue to live carelessly.
I think the rational people who still exist in America should get prepared for the inevitable grid down situation. Such an event is now more likely than not to happen, and it is likely to happen within a decade. If Americans make it to 2030, solar roofs should reduce threats that remain.
The federal government cannot save you if the electrical grid goes down. People in government will be trying to save themselves and their own families.
At the very least you should have 3 months of non perishable food on hand. You also should have some water supply and some way of purifying water. There are water filters available from internet stores that will take care of water purification for the whole family. They cost about $100. If the grid is down longer than three months, everyone left in the cities will be under martial law and a rationing system, or else most will be dead. Those living in rural areas might want to have 6 months food on hand.
If many large transformers are damaged, it could take over a year to get power to the some parts of America. Even if the government starts doing something about the grid now, it will take years to reduce most of the high risk. The final solution to the threat is that electricity needs to be generated locally and delivered over much smaller grids.
People in cities will be killing each other for the necessities of life in the first week of a grid down situation. Some of the 100 nuclear reactors in America could go critical and melt down after the first month. An enemy foreign or domestic can take America down easier than most think. We are very vulnerable because American people have irrational faith in infrastructure.
The history of the world is full of examples of people living carelessly until sudden destruction came. Lest you think it can’t happen to Christians in America until after the Rapture, the dead saints under the altar say otherwise.
The largest cities in America have become much like Sodom and Gomorrah even though Lot still lives among them. Rural areas tend to have more believers and the big cities tend to have a Lot of unbelievers (pun intended). Anyone see any biblical significance to that? If any angels show up at your place, saying they are going down to the cities to see if they are as wicked as they heard, you might plead with them about your relatives living there. Then let Katy bar the door.

I think that this verse is apropos to the discussion. I want to stand on this, presuming that Trump / Pense / America bless Israel in deed, as your last blog and comments (as seemingly unending as they were) hinted at a scenario in which God’s judgment on America was delayed, and the rapture interrupted the pseudo-stable America — I believe you mentioned, say, a couple years, which matches up with above on a sentence or two, before America could be attacked.
O.K., sorry for the rambling there. I think the point is that maybe we might have a slight reprieve? (yes, I think this is a question).
BTW – I / we really appreciate you hanging in there. Your obedience to Christ is a major blessing to us.

As for a slight reprieve for America. I don’t know. I am not going to try to read God’s mind.
I am thinking the scenario is this: Under the presumption that America is a very strong advocate for Israel, as could be the case, God will honor Genesis 12:3 and the scenarios of Grid Down or Nuclear attack would not happen until after the Rapture, which happens in a couple years and cuts short the current administration’s tenor (and the scenarios of grid down / nuclear attack / world war and leading up to the rider on the white horse come early-to-mid 2020’s would be on the fast track).
So, I’ve been working since 2010 time frame or so (as I became aware of your web site and devoured your commentary on Revelation) to have a decent survival plan for 6 months, plus get a skill set [in my case, fishing]. Well, now, I’m thinking that I might be able to relax a bit, and maybe work more on straight up individual evangelism (no one seems to be listening, though).
I could be way off. But I do think that I should be able to have some level of confidence in Genesis 12:3 (?)

As for the threats to our grid et al, it is only a matter of time. Wasn’t there an incident a year or so ago where someone was firing a rifle at some transformers out west and nearly shut down a whole town or city? Also, I have read about random foreigners from Pakistan and other nations walking around water works areas and other sensitive places unrestricted. It really must be the hand of God at work preventing these attacks, because I believe the terrorists are here and have been for many years. Namely from Iran.

It actually was sabotage on a remote substation in California by two or more people that knew what they were doing. They did take down the substation but electricity was rerouted. It occurred a few years ago. Some believe it was a dress rehearsal. Taking down a dozen or so of these substations in a coordinated attack could take down the whole US grid.
Regarding the water purifiers, some hopefully helpful hints:
– I chose the “gravity” fed style.
– The ceramic filters are washable, so the lifespan of the filters is much longer than the disposables (considering the scenario, disposable is not optimum).
Don’t forget to have firewood on hand. I plan on boiling before/after filtering.
As for water source – this is your number 1 priority, far and above that of food.
If you are fortunate enough to have a stockpile don’t forget you need to be able to defend it.
Also don’t assume if the grid goes down you will be at home with your family gathered around you. You may be separated by many many miles. Husband at work in one part of town, wife at work in another and kids bused off to school somewhere else.
Does anyone have to have regular Rx such as insulin? Do you have a parent in a nursing home?
If you’re in town or city no more garbage pick up. No more sanitation. Disease runs rampant.
If you haven’t actually thought through this horrible scenario you might want to read One Second After. It might remind you of a few things you hadn’t considered.
Caitlin is right. I also read One Second After and the outlook is pretty bleak. Even though you might be well prepared, your loved ones may be far removed and in turn might have a very hard time, if not impossible way to get back home. A must read if you want to see how bad things can get.

I had been hesitating to wade further in to the survival discussion, thinking it could start to get way off the beaten path / topic, but I’ll make one more post…
First things first, “anyone who calls on the *name* of the Lord shall be saved” – Where it all starts.
The idea of defending your stockpile washes out. I’ve been mentally noodling on this for years and I’ve realized that everything comes down to community. If your community is going to shoot it up, it’s all over. If you have called on the *name* of the Lord for salvation, you are with Him, sooner rather than later.
If your community is such that it can realize that water and food can be accomplished by working for it (again, move out of the cities), then your defense of your stockpile is for show, keeping honest people honest.
Regarding stockpile and other supplies, you want your neighbors to be your allies. They have access to your stockpile and vice versa. They defend your collective needs and have your back and vice versa. On your best day scenario. You should be on good terms with your neighbors anyway (I think you’ll find a scripture on that).
As for being away from home – you should have a backpack in your vehicle and planning on walking home in under 48 hours, preferably 24 hours.
Hello Don, I am a Canadian and I can tell you there is no free cash here. Trudeau and his cronies are in panic mode right now, simply because they do not know how to Govern a country. He is running around the world trying to conjure up trade deals with the likes of Mexico and Venezuela. Without the US as our prime trading partner we are sunk. There was an article back in June 2016 that talked about replacing all welfare programs- food stamps, housing aid, utility supplements, etc. that will be replaced w a single lump check to each citizen to spend as they please. To be paid for by high-income earners and corporations, the gov’t can finance the lives of it’s citizens.
They say it will reduce welfare budgets by simplifying & eliminating bureaucracy. Other nations are experimenting too. Switzerland is set to vote on adopting a basic income $2500 a month for adults & $625 for children. Denmark, Finland & the Netherlands have similar schemes in various stages of planning.

Hello Bill, I live in southern Alberta, just 2 hours south of Calgary. This province has a real battle going on between the conservative right and the far left who have proven to be godless. There are still some pockets of God fearing people left here who have been fighting back. I believe that the election of Donald Trump will perhaps send a message to our socialist and left wing politicians that they have chinks in their armor. My wife and I have provisions, water etc. and Caitlin we certainly can defend it. I come from a background of 25 years in law enforcement, and have sufficient fire power and ammo to last some time should that be required. I hope that I do have the courage to stand up for our Lord. And yes Don, I think there is things in the very near future that no one could have imagined.
Don’t forget that the primary enemies of the US are driven by Satan. I have disagreed with Don for years about the timing of the worldwide EMP. We must remember that Satan is very limited – unlike God – so he will be dependent upon the world’s existing infrastructure for his communication ability. This is his command and control system with which he will rule the world. I simply can’t see him allowing Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan (or any other country he runs) to destroy his near term ability to run the world. What is coming soon is an economic downturn worldwide – driven by the black horse of the apocalypse. You are kind of mixed up about the sequences of end time events. You also seem to mix up the US with the world.
First of all, Satan does not need the United States military. An EMP would not destroy most of our military assets anyway. The US infrastructure could be fixed in a couple of years or less. The US is not the kingdom of the Antichrist. And God is in control of timings not Satan. You say that Satan is limited but then you put him in charge.
Second, an EMP over the United States is not going to destroy Satan’s control system. The US is not the world and Satan does not need it. You say Satin is very limited and is dependent on the world infrastructure but that simply is not true. And the world infrastructure is not the infrastructure of the US.
Third, the black horse will ride as a result of the red horse of war but first the white horse must ride.
fourth, A California earthquake is small in comparison to what will happen at the 6th seal. What happens is much more than a local earthquake. Also, a California earthquake would not bring a world depression. I keep telling you that the US is not the world.
Fifth, You claim to know for sure that an EMP will not happen under the Trump administration but you simply cannot know any such thing. Besides, a cyber attack that will bring down the grid is even more likely in the next couple of years than an EMP.
Sixth, the Rapture will most likely occur before any of the seals are opened. True Christians do not need to prepare for tribulation events.
As I have been thinking about the events that are happening, I believe God put trump in office and will use him to defeat the powers of Satan for a while. He is not one of the elite of the world and does not belong to any secret society’s, but does now how they work. He knows what is going on in the world and is vowed to stop it.
If Obama had not had a second term the people would not have seen his failed policies. He had to have a second term in order for people to get fed up and vote in a different kind of person that was not part of the Washington elite. Trump fills the bill. I believe God has played the Trump card.
I believe the powers of Satan are going to try take him out, but God is going to put a hedge around him and what ever they do will fail. Trump has set his face like a flint by the power of God. God is using Trump to defeat the powers of darkness that are in our country.
He has vowed to drain the swamp, and I believe heads will roll.
Just my opinion but I will continue to pray and seek the Lord to protect Trump and Pence. It is going to be interesting to see how it all plays out. When God begins to work, nothing can stay His hand. The elite of the world are in confusion. Satan’s people can see the hand of God and are afraid. Keep watch and pray.

I was tailoring my comments as to apply to the USA – that is the theme of this commentary – the enemies as a grave threat to America. The bad things coming are indeed coming to the whole world and the US will NOT be exempt.
I am not confused as to the events of the end of the age at all. The 7 seals, the 7 trumpets, the 7 seals are sequential. The white horse – seal 1 – has been riding and deceiving the earth as pretending to be Christ since before the year 100 – they wrote about him in the New Testament. Satan has been using war (red horse), famine, economic disaster (black horse) and his Muslims (green horse) very actively against the Christians since that time too. Statistics show Satan’s forces killed 45 million people just in the 20th century. So, we are NOT waiting for the first five seals to be performed – they are all very long in the tooth already. All of these things are indeed on God’s timetable – down to the year, day, hour as He says in the 6th trumpet event.
The 6th seal earthquake will hit California. It will also hit Washington State – and will hit the middle American – you will most likely feel it where you live. I was just mentioning CA because that very same day the “scientists” in CA admitted that they are ready to have a much bigger earthquake than they have ever expected before. The collective impact of such a continental wide disaster would indeed wreck our economy.
As to infrastructure – the mark of the beast is based a worldwide technology driven system that will have to work at every place of commerce world wide every single time. Satan is not God and neither is the anti-Christ, so they will have to rely upon technology to control the world – even the US part of it. That being said a cyber attack is MUCH more likely than an EMP because that does not destroy his future command and control system (computers, cell phones, internet of things, etc.).

As I said you have a historist interpretation of Revelation. I do not think the details of the seals fit history. Since you have this view, you come up with interpretations that cannot be supported by some of the wording in Revelation or by any other scripture. The fundamental problem in the historist interpretation is that the prophecy in Revelation is about what will come after the Church age.
The sixth seal has nothing to do with normal fault line earthquakes that occur every few hundred years. You ignore the detail and suggest that the earthquake will come because it is overdue. That does not fit what the prophecy says.
As for human technology, Satan will use it toward his own end. However, he does not need it. The angels are highly advanced. The fallen one will come with technology that is far beyond what humans have. There is a reason why people will think that the Antichrist is God, he will have all the answers. God has been hindering him until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. That is also called the Church age.
