Worn out loafing around on the Internet in a tired world.

I wanted to write a couple of new articles on something worth knowing this week but the chances of that seem to be getting slimmer all the time. Between comments, emails, website administration and modifications, keeping up with the news, shopping for food, yard work, a garden that is out of control, all my high mileage vehicles needing repair, my wife going on a mission trip, a birthday, spraying the fruit trees, taking care of the animals, doing bills, a holiday coming up, sleeping , etc. I find that there just are not enough hours in the day to get everything done. I am tired.

When I was working full time for the government it seems I had plenty of time to do all kinds of loafing around but now that I am loafing around on the internet reading material and writing blogs I am totally exhausted. I just looked at the ISP logs for the last few months and they say I have been averaging over 300 hours each month on the Internet and I am only logged on the Internet when I am actually working on it. That’s over 70 hours a week on the Internet and that does not count all the computer stuff that I do off-line.

So I will just make a couple of brief observations about items in the news and then maybe I can have some time to stare in a campfire this week and just loaf around listening to night sounds.

There are now three carrier groups in the Gulf area as well as Israeli war vessels. Anytime we have that much fire power in the Gulf area a message is being sent to someone, or  an attack  is imminent. I do not think the United States is planning an attack right now or we would probably have another carrier group on the way, but who knows with all the bases we have around the area we might not need another one. More likely, we just know that things are going to deteriorate in the Middle East and we want to have enough fire power in place to prevent an attack on our own interests. I think Israel will soon be put in a position where she will have to respond to Iran. So this is just a heads up saying that a Middle East war is very likely this summer or fall.

Our CIA said that Iran now has enough enriched uranium for two nuclear bombs. They think it will take one year to actually create those bombs and another year to develop a weapons system to deliver them. Israel is not going to wait for that to happen. Israel probably already knows that that it will not take Iran an additional year to deliver the bombs but the delivery of the nukes is not their main concern anyway they do not Iran to have a bomb at all. By the time Iran might make the two bombs they will have enough additional enriched uranium to make two more bombs. That would be four bombs too many in just one year if Iran actually attempts to build them. And that’s only what we know about. I do not doubt that there is much that we do not know about. Meanwhile, Iran continues to harden its nuclear facilities and greatly expanding development  of more nuclear sites. What it comes down to is this: Israel knows it is running out of time to stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. So maybe Israel is just waiting for any good excuse to hit Iran. If one does not appear soon through the normal course of world events I am sure it will magically appear somehow.

Well, the well is still pumping in the gulf after 70 days. I read all kinds of crazy stuff about the Gulf blowing up and cities and all vegetation being destroyed for hundreds of miles inland. It has to make me wonder where all these people get all their education? Put one drop of oil in your in-ground swimming pool and you might have a comparable oil water ratio. As for a gas bubble blowing up under the ocean and creating a tidal wave that will wipe out coastal cities? Well that’s why people stay up all night listening to Coast-to Coast. The end of the world has been coming any day now in Dreamland for the last 15 years. The insomniacs and horror story fans just love the latest science fiction stories dreamed up by the usual unusual relentless tale spinners. Yeah, the gulf is a huge environmental mess and it will get worse but some dwelling in Dreamland need to get a grip, oil or no oil.

The economy is heading for a real live crises for sure. I think we will be back in recession (actually depression) by this fall. Just look at the real estate data, the falling liquidity and the stock markets. Obama and the G20 or G8 have totally opposite views on what should be done to save the world economy. Europe thinks they should cut spending and debt and Obama thinks everyone should be increasing spending and going further in debt. Here is reality of  the world’s problem.  If everyone cuts output like Europe wants the world will go into a great depression like the 1930’s with very high unemployment and falling prices. If everyone spends beyond their means like Obama wants we will soon default on our debts and make paper money worthless. There really is no solution because the people in the nations are not willing to cut their living standers in half to pay for decades of spending beyond their means.

Actually, there is a solution and that is for everyone in the world to default on their debts at the same time and for everyone to just start over without debt and then for all people to start living within their means. Of course that means almost everyone loses almost all of their investments and entitlements, but it is going to happen anyway.

That is my update of this tired world. It is now time for me to do some real serious loafing around. Hopefully most of it will be somewhere besides the Internet.

  1. God is. If I did not think that this Blog is a ministry providing information and Christian worldviews for those living in these last days I would not even do it. The website without the blog would be far less time consuming.

Well, its time to give the Japanese beetles eating my fruit trees a toxic shower again and I need to water the weeds that have taken over the vegetable garden. We must resort to using chemical warfare and a army of weed whackers in the Ozarks in the summer or green hell with biting demons prevail.

  2. i believe the internet is a product of satan himself, it’s sad thinking that god designed our bodies for the garden of eden where there is pure paradise and look in what kind of a world we ended up living. I hope this changes soon because this world is going downhill fast. The entire human race is brainwashed beyond belief like puppets, god needs to step in soon and take care of this insanity. Satan has finally taken over the elites and bankers of the world and now they are destroying everything in sight and stealing trillions of dollars from the innocent people, i hope god gives them what they deserve one day and they pay a terrible price for this, i’ll be looking forward to that day.

  3. Get some rest Don! 🙂

    Thanks for this post!

Of course, I can’t wait for our true rest when our Lord returns for us. It will be an *active* rest, BUT He remake us to function perfectly. (Hmmm, I wonder if we will still need sleep? {I wonder about a good many things!})

Abba, please give our brother Don the rest he needs, rest in all ways: physical, emotional, intellectual and of course You, Jesus, are our spiritual rest. Please continue to meet his needs and that of his family, and please continue to bless Your ministry through Don and his wife! Please watch over her as she is serving You away from home! Thank You *so much* for them, and their example an commitment to You and each other – please grow their oneness together, and together in You!

  4. Thanks Brett.

I got all the Beatles under control except for Paul.

Denis, let the bankers steal the money it will all be worthless soon anyway.

Jas 5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

  5. Yep, get some rest over the weekend. Or “eat some ice cream” or watch some
fireworks. What did Jesus do once or twice, he went under a tree to rest.
Or did he rest as often as possible?

  6. hmm the verses above explain exactly what the bankers are doing, end times at it’s best!!!!!!

  7. i found an interesting video on the rapture,

(Note from Don – Denis, I edited out the link because it is off topic for this post. Also if anyone puts links to video or audio on my site I would appreciate it if you gave a short summery of it, or at least the bottom line – I for one cannot watch videos with my dial-up and I don’t like hosting links to who knows what?

There is a search box on this blog where you can put in the appropriate keyword to find a suitable post that would be more on topic)

  8. Be persistent and steadfast, Don, with those weeds! I’ve got a crew of teenagers coming this afternoon to pull my weeds!!!! We put up a swimming pool to lounge around in on the 4th, so the teenagers have a reward.

Rest, Don. I really enjoy and rely on your blog for information. Thanks for being an information warrior. OUr family appreciates you.

I’ve been reading alot in the Bible about God’s point-of-view on worry. We shouldn’t!!! God is in control (even of those weeds….may all your weeds be wildflowers!).

  9. Don – I know its a lot of work, but I want to tell you I appreciate your work and truly believe you will be blessed by God for it, if not with temporary rewards, then definitely with eternal ones. Thank you for your time and effort. I don’t agree with *everything* you blog, but I look forward every day (usually lunchtime at work) to logging on and seeing if you have posted anything. Bless you and your family.

  10. Thanks, Even I do not agree with everything I ever blogged. What I say is simply my view the day that I posted it.

  11. I do love the way you always put things into perspective, Don, and always enjoy reading your blog (when I get around to it). I hope you found some much needed R&R this weekend.

(I am finally commenting here because I am dying of curiosity to see what nasty little avatar alien picture will pop up beside my name when I do.)

  12. Ahhh! A green masked blob thing with a dragon-like tail, further proof that the internet is a product of Satan! LOL! It was a risk I had to take.

  13. Hi Carla,

You look cute in your green garb. Always love reading your blog “More Books and Things” (link is on sidebar). I do not know where you find the time to keep up with all the crazy teachers, teachings and things that have infiltrated christian institutions and books stores. People really need to read your site so they can discern and reject the heresy flavor of the day.

I have been getting some rest but I never expect too much rest because something always comes up. My leader of the pack dog died early in the morning on July 3rd. Guess he had a heart attack while outside. He was eleven years old but still could run like a two year old. The dog was over 90 lbs so I needed to dig a big hole. I buried him in the back of the garden it about killed me as well. Bye Bubba my friend, I will miss you 😥 – you were the best dog I ever had and you even talked (Bubba talked). As mean as you looked to other people all you ever asked of anyone was for them to pet you. Bubba had a wonderful life running the wilds of Missouri, Arizona and New York state. Other dogs would have envied his abundant life.

I was hoping our garden would not produce anything until my wife got back from her mission trip to Honduras. But no such luck. I also had to pick a couple of fruit trees so the weekend was not all rest.

Of course, like yourself, I get these emails from legalists probably in cults who want to tell me why the Rapture and other orthodox doctrines of Christianity are not in the Bible and why they know the correct teaching of the Bible and I don’t. I am just an apostate false teacher from the Devil and antichrist because I dare to question their views. Normally I ignore jackasses that send me email or send me comments on my posts that are not worth posting. Or I just give them a link to my articles but this one seems brainwashed so I have been using some shock therapy on him to try to get him to think for himself.

Last thing I said to him was to tell me why he believes he is a Christian without resorting to subjective feelings or without just telling me the Bible says so, unless he can also tell me why He knows the Bible is God’s word. I told him we were through with the discussion if he could not tell me why he believes what he believes. I have not heard from him in two days. If he actually responds I might just post it. I think Christians might want to know how the Internet self righteous slanders intelligently defend their own faith to others when asked.

Time to take a nap. Thanks for checking in mask and all.

  14. Thanks Don. My sympathies about your dog – we’ve buried our share of family pets out in the back 40. It helps to have a tractor, or a neighbor with a tractor.

About those time consuming comments and e-mails – some of these folks are on an agenda and you’ve just got to spend your time on the ones who are sincerely seeking the truth. I’ve been on one too many rabbit trails and have learned to pick my battles. As far as blogging, I don’t know how I find the time either. I often wonder how everyone else in the world finds the time to watch TV which accomplishes nothing.

I’m glad you like my new green outfit and mask. I’m thinking it’s a great look for the garden. 🙂
