There are many topics that I could write about but nothing particularly strikes my fancy right now. So I am going to make this post wide open to whatever is on your mind (within reason). What concerns you and what do you have to say that you believe others reading this blog should know? If there is a lot of response this may be something that we do more often.
Here are a few examples of things you might want to talk about.
Lately leaders across Europe have been admitting that multiculturalism was a big mistake. However, realizing that it was a mistake after they created this demographic time bomb will not change the outcome. So what do you suggest that they do about it?
What do you think will happen in the Middle East after the fall of Mubarak?
What is going to happen to stop Iran’s and North Korea’s nuclear weapons program?
What will our budget deficit lead to? How do we fix the problem? Or perhaps you think we cannot fix the problem at all?
What will Fascist Russia and China lead the world to?
What will Islam bring the world within the next decade or so?
Who will get the 2012 Republican nomination for President and why?
Who will win the 2012 presidential election and why?
Where is Christianity headed in America? How do we re-evangelize America? How would you change church in America?
What should American patriots do to save America from Marxism?
How do we bring some semblance of decency and morality back to our cities, our schools and our airwaves?
What would you do about illegal immigration?
What would you do about drugs and gangs?
Okay… those are just a number of examples, this is not a quiz. So don’t just answer my questions above, unless one of my examples is really something that you want to write about.
I want to know what you think? What is on your mind that you think others reading this blog need to know about?
I will really try not to be very critical about what you say, but I also will not do much censoring of what others might say about what you said. Of course no direct personal attacks on posters or on myself will be allowed. People might even read my comment policy before posting their comments. You can find that on the top bar.
Iam not from America, but would like to join with some words..
What do you think will happen in the Middle East after the fall of Mubarak?
– Things will lead to chaos, muslim brotherhood take advantage of the chaos and slowly take the power. This story is very similar Iran revolution.
Iran (1978) = Egypt (2011)
Jimy Carter = Obama (coward politic, worst presidents)
Shah = Mubarak (both were in bad health, and US and European denied them help)
Iran became Islamic and started to persecute the liberal Arab who brought down Shah. They later regretted they went aginst shah, but it was to late. As usual Liberals and leftist are ALWAYS wrong, and in some sense self destructive of nature.
The same is unfolding right now in Egypt…
What is going to happen to stop Iran’s and North Korea’s nuclear weapons program?
-Noth Korea already have nuclear weapons and no one dear to touch them. Israel will do something in the later end to Iran, but not sure when, and how. They simply don’t trust EU, US (there is power inside them who wish to see Israel destruction).
What will Fascist Russia and China lead the world to?
– I believe they are in somehow in standby right now, observing the events, both are like sleeping bears. But things will change fast, once world economy collapse.
What will Islam bring the world within the next decade or so?
– Islamic terror will increase, and the world will fed up, however, as usual blaming instead on all “narrow minded” religious people who believe in only one way of truth, and persecute Christian evangelist, as they are cowards don’t dare to touch Muslims.
To the rest of the questions.
-As I said before, Liberals/leftist are self-destructive people, and as far as they are majority they will lead all the rest of the question to their worst state. Economy, election, illegal immigrants…
Its very hard to turn people to new mentality. I believe everyone should take care of own faith with the Lord Jesus Christ, and even one more saved, will do a lot to a mass of blind people.
Don check this out. It broke my heart when I read it. There is an actual contract on the website.

3-Month Tithe Challenge
Posted by Tommy Spargerin Finances on 02 14th, 2011 | no responses
This past weekend we issued the 3-Month Tithe Challenge – If you tithe for three months and God doesn’t hold true to His promises of blessings, you will be refunded 100% of your tithe! If you don’t already tithe (10% of your income) join us by filling out the challenge and dropping it in the tithe buckets or at a kiosk in the lobby this weekend. You can also sign up online and learn more about the agreement and rules (or see card below).
Some of you filled out the “3 month tithe challenge” card, but you already tithe. Because of this there has been a little confusion. Some of you have asked if you should have filled the card out or if you need to get the card back. Let me make it simple: No, you don’t need to get the card back, it’s fine that you filled one out.
The whole point of the challenge is to ease the fear of people who don’t tithe. In my experience, a common struggle is that people are anxious they won’t be able to survive on the remaining 90%…that God won’t come through…that they won’t be blessed. By offering a money back guarantee for new tithers, we’re trying to remove that fear, and give people an opportunity to increase their faith in God. NPC is “testing” (Malachi 3:10-11) God for you. For those of you who are already tithing…well…there is no hurdle to overcome. That fear is gone and you already trust God with this element of our lives.
Qerio,
I appreciate your views on my questions and pretty much agree with your observations but I think you really missed my point. I want your own concerns and observations posted and not just answers to the few selected examples that I presented just to get people started.
Anyway thanks for setting the example so I do not have to explain this all over again. (I guess I can always wish)
Hi Vincent,
That is pretty presumptions and also a misapplication of Malachi 3:10-11. I guess some need to read my article on tithing and ripping passages directed at Israel out of proper historical context to make them apply to the Church.

It sometimes hits pretty close to home because this week my article on Bible studies in Baptist churches was seen sitting on the desk of the assistance pastor and Bible school director where I attend. They use the LifeWay Sunday school magazines.
http://www.thepropheticyears.com/comments/Bible%20studies%20in%20Baptist%20Churches.htm.
It was only a few weeks ago that I opposed the popular 2Ch 7:14 interpretation that so many are taking out of context and that was spreading all over our conference. I keep wondering how long they will put up with me?
https://www.thepropheticyears.com/wordpress/2-ch-714-if-my-people-read-the-context-there-would-be-less-presumption.html
It was your article that was “ringing in my ears” as I was reading this…sorcery!?
WHY can we not take God’s word in context instead of cookie cuttering a strange gospel?
2 Timothy 4: 3-4
3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
Interesting idea Don I like it you should do one of these every couple months. I would say we could talk about the inevitable downfall of America but after awhile it gets very stressful. I think about these problems way too much as it is. How bout a blog where we talk about our blessings we all have? That would be kinda nice. Your last post about the singularity I found interesting and I read about it in Time today. I noticed that their date predictions tend to be off by a few years usually it takes alot longer to happen in reality. I don’t think we will see the average lifespan pass even 100 for another 50 years let alone live forever. I do think we (at least the younger people) are the terminal generation so I’d think we will see much of this technology anyway. I read about the age of man being 7000 years awile ago and it’s like 5772 on jewish calender plus I heard about 180 years on top of that due to judgements and being out of the land. All in all it turns out to be only 20 to 40 somtin years until millenium. Idk how accurate that is I doubt it’s even correct but who knows.
Separate note I am getting surgery in 3 days on my knee nothin real serious but i got a heart abnormality so idk how it will react to the anesthesia and stress of surgery. it’s my first surgery so I’m kinda nervous bout it. I was wondering if you guys could pray for me.
Writing about your blessings sounds good to me.
My point on the Singularity is that those who get into the futuristic trends and really think about this stuff believe that man will reach virtual immortality in about forty years. We Christians know that cannot happen within this age which shows just how close we probably are to the end of the age.
The Bible indicates that man’s lifespan will generally be 70 or 80 years in this dispensation. However, in the next age people may even live through the whole thousand year reign. We see that man is already extending age in animals but God simply is not going to allow genetic changes in man because the sons of Adam must be redeemed by a kinsman redeemer. like I said before those who take the mark of the Beast probably cannot be saved anymore because it has something to do with altering man’s genetics. It will probably be advertised as some evolutionary leap foreword for man.
I pray that you will be in good hands during your surgery.
Don,
I don’t want to bring Jim down, but…I wonder if this is the last somewhat normal year we will ever have again.
We could ease into an economic crumble or we could rush into it by way of war or terror attack or the dreaded emp attack.
They are talking more freqently about replacing the dollar on the international level so I’m wondering how quickly they will make that decision.
I’ve heard that inflation will go to the roof once that happens.
Am I ready for that if it happens? I don’t think so.
Don,
I’m also thinking the whole Middle East meltdown could buy Israel some time.
Some see behind the scenes efforts to generate these revolutions. They may need time to put their fix in.
It could take a few years for the revolts and the ensuing reshuffling of governments to take place. Maybe in the turmoil Israel sends over another computer virus to Irans’ computers to slow that down, or maybe with all the revolts going down Israel says nows as good a time as any to nuke their facilities.
Hezbollah and Hamas seem to be waiting something out, it’s like they have been trying to egg Israel into a fight, but Israel is holding the line.
I see a need to develop the mark of the beast technology, I think Babylon needs to be built, the ten nations probably need to be better defined etc.
There are things that still need to play out so I could see a slower economic meltdown along with a slow Middle East meltdown, sending us into 2020 or so.
I tend to think the church will be around till around 2025 or later.
I am hardly an authority on anything, except maybe how to properly design and architect software systems and writing loosely coupled code riding thereon, which hardly applies to this blog (I can’t even get those in my own profession to respect what I have to say on those topics). I have very little free time, let alone quality time with the Lord’s word (deep breath). My best quality time is the period before bed time.
The 1,000 year reign and even the “ages to come” thereafter intrigues me. I may have misread something in the previous post, but I presume to live through the entire 1,000 year reign and in to the ages to come – then again, Jesus said we would be *like* the angels.
What concerns me – life. Jesus said something to the effect “so we can live life to the fullest”. Well, by the looks of things, that could be a major challenge. Survival is probably the key topic the concerns me. I just purchased some packets of renewable seeds with a generally long shelf life; And I’m going to take up fishing with a vengeance this year and next. We’re getting the last home improvements accomplished, plus a hand pump for the water well. Then there’s self protection. And I’ll need to get in to pretty much anything and everything DIY. I just want to be standing when the Lord calls us (true, unwaivering believers) in the clouds.
As for the world… Well, the world is going to have to own up to it’s mistakes and decide whether it wants to do it the savior’s way or else.
This has been talked about before, but I see hyper-inflation on consumer necessities as the next immediate danger to most American families. From poor government fiscal management to global food shortages and devastating unusual weather patterns, we are already starting to see increased prices for food and energy. By the end of this summer, the average American family can expect to spend at least an additional $200/month for just groceries and gas($4/gallon for gas and 15% increase in groceries). We will not see wage inflation to offset this because the job recovery just won’t happen fast enough – if at all. This will take out another layer of the middle class and push them closer to welfare status. Too many Christian Americans have been poor stewards of God’s money and will realize they can’t serve both God and money. The time is now to prepare for tough times and follow God’s word. I like Jim’s idea to talk about our blessings. God has blessed me with a kick in the butt to follow His Son Jesus Christ and all the beautiful things that I have received since then, I owe my life to him. My prayers are with you Jim for your surgery and Thank You Don for all your hard work and truthful insight.
Don, I hope this is is in line with your idea line here, but its something that has been on my mind for quite some time. IF were here during a time before the Rapture and things go WWWWAAAAAYYYYY south during that time, where exactly do we, as believers draw the line as to do we go as sheep to the slaughter, or do we resist, fight, and very possibly kill to defend our own? If you remember a movie during the mid 1980’s, “The Mission” starring Robert Dinero Jeremy Irons, and Liam Neeson, it was about the Jesuits missionary endeavours in South America, and specifically Venezuala if I remember right. Dinero plays a mercenary slave runner-whoremonger who kills his brother over a woman, winds up going with a bunch of Jesuits, evidently has something of a Damascus experience, gets saved, and becomes a Jesuit. Long story short, the Church, after building up a mission for the natives, capitulates to Portugal and decides to abandon the mission and the natives. Jeremy Irons, playing a Jesuit priest, goes the way of sheep to the slaughter, leading the natives while carrying a monstrance with the concecrated host in it to the guns and slaughter. Dinero, on the other hand, can’t stand to watch the natives being slaughtered and decides tofight, trying to defend them but dying in the process. I always Identified with him. He was changed…he was saved…but he just couldn’t stomach the idea of watching women, children, and old people being slaughtered, and not doing anything about it, even if the attempt was futile. I wouldn’t want to face the Risen Christ Jesus if I LET my wife, daughter, and anyone elsebe slaughtered during a persecution and did nothing about it if it was in my power to do so. Seems to me He’s not too crazy about cowards as well as any other sinners. I stated before, I DON’T want to be here for the Tribulation, but who knows how bad it will get before hand. Am I wrong to think this way?
d
Leonardo,
I frankly think that Iran will very soon have a revolution and then decide not to build nukes and that is why they will not be involved in the Psalm 83 war. I wrote a blog on it and did not get a good reception from some, because they think the Islamist’s will retain control. Nevertheless, I think they are wrong. Israel cannot be living in peace and security with no one to make them afraid as stated in Ezekiel until the hostile Arab nations are defeated and Iran becomes neutral. So I also see this whole Middle East thing dragging out a couple of decades, but the Rapture could be anytime. This time of peace after the Psalm 83 war will also set up conditions for great wealth in the Middle East and the rebuilding of Babylon and of course the revived Roman Empire needs to emerge on the same boundaries of the old. It will also give Russia and China the time needed to build their prophetic armies.
Michael,
I saw the movie and I was on the side of Dinero. I do not think God wants us to be pacifists except in the cause of giving the world the gospel. He does not want us physically fighting others to try to establish a Christian dominion on the earth or to fight against those that persecute us for our Christian message. Vengeance on those that persecute Christians for the sake of the gospel will be His doing. Nevertheless, there is a natural order on earth that was put in place by God. In that natural order real men are expected to protect their families and establish law and moral codes in their respective nations so that tyrants and the perverted do not reign and become predictors on the weak and the innocent. Tyrants reign on earth when decent men do nothing.
Don, you have made no comment on the stuxnet virus and Iran’s nuclear programme? You don’t think it relevant??
Interested in your thoughts
I’m hoping Donald Trump will run for President in 2012. I don’t know much about his spirituality but I do like him as a business man. He has already said he would impose a 25% tax on all imports coming from China! Bye, bye Walmart!! If this does happen does anybody think more people will buy American? What about new job opportunities opening up here in the USA? Just my thoughts!!
GOD Bless!
Brian, sure its relevant it is delaying Iran’s nuclear program. On the downside, it could be the start of a war of super cyber virus and we are one of the most vulnerable nations on earth because of our computerized infrastructure.
I really dont have much to comment about other than it amazes me to see how quickly everything seems to be coming together prophetically. The Middle East is on fire, and the nations seem to be more and more perplexed as the years go by. I can only imagine what oil prices will be when the Psalm 83 war breaks out. I also wonder how involved the US will be, militarily, in such a conflict? These truely are fascinating times.
Sitting in the dentist waiting room this morning I picked up the latest Time magazine and read this, “2045: The Year Man Becomes Immortal”. http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2048138,00.html
It’s an article dealing with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the near future. Maybe it’s just me that sees Satan’s hand in this kind of thinking. But the godless intelligence of academia never ceases to amaze me. From the days of Adam, Satan has tried to convince man that “you shall not surely die…” I guess in theory it could be true except that no one has never NOT died! (save according to scripture Enoch and Elijah. And we aren’t yet sure that they won’t die or haven’t already died. But that’s not what I want to talk about. Funny thing about God, He can do what He likes)
Behold this foolish reasoning from the article, “Aubrey de Grey is one of the world’s best-known life-extension researchers and a Singularity Summit veteran. A British biologist with a doctorate from Cambridge and a famously formidable beard, de Grey runs a foundation called SENS, or Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence. He views aging as a process of accumulating damage, which he has divided into seven categories, each of which he hopes to one day address using regenerative medicine. “People have begun to realize that the view of aging being something immutable — rather like the heat death of the universe — is simply ridiculous,” he says. “It’s just childish.”
Now, I didn’t attend Cambridge, and I haven’t acted childish since my last high school reunion, but even I know we can’t stop aging. I guess my question to this modern day Ponce De Leon/Einstein is, if the laws of aging and death are NOT immutable, then hows come your still doing it.
Funny thing about intelligentsia. They know a lot of stuff but virtually everything they know is wrong. Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not against intelligence. God given intellect is to be treasured. Even aspired to. This however does not appear to be it.
Just think, it won’t be long before you will no longer need a dentist.
I read the article a week or so ago. Of course things will continue to age as long as there is time but I do think there will be an end to the negative effects of aging.
After all there is no death in the New Heaven and Earth. Also keep in mind that people lived a lot longer before the flood and they will live very long again in the millennium. So the effects of age on humans can be changed if conditions on earth are changed. I do not know if man will play a part in that or not, but I tend to think he will under the direction of Jesus and the Saints of course.
I think one of the main reasons for the thousand year reign is for man to take dominion over the earth and to restore conditions on earth back to the way it was before the fall. Nevertheless, when man is restored to like he was before the fall he will be deceived by Satan and rebel against God anyway just like his father Adam. So there will be no finger pointing among those that obtain eternity.
I would tend to agree with your assessment of longer life spans. If however, you subscribe to the canopy theory, as I would tend to, I don’t see how man could have a hand in it’s restoration. Nevertheless, it would seem apparent that in some way life spans are lengthened, either by some enlightenment of mankind or by intervention of a supreme being.
I guess the real gist of my comment is the misplaced curiosity of some in academia. Look at some of the things said in the article, “we’ll be able to transfer our minds to sturdier vessels such as computers and robots”. In the article they talk about believers of Singularity as, becoming part of a small but intense and globally distributed hive of like-minded thinkers known as Singularitarians. And sharing a worldview. Sounds like a religion. Another man-made excuse for not believing in a supreme being. It’s interesting to look at some of the questions the author of the piece eventually asks, “If I can scan my consciousness into a computer, am I still me?” and, “Who decides who gets to be immortal?” and, “And as we approach immortality, omniscience and omnipotence, will our lives still have meaning?”
If these people would just focus their attention on God, they would find their answers.
Regarding Europe’s multiculturalism mistake, last month you suggested that America could solve it’s economic problems by permitting immigrant young couples from around the world who could replace America’s aborted children. I think America like much of Europe already has a problem with too many diverse ethnic groups. Allowing a huge wave of immigrants would only increase the division. Larger population numbers wouldn’t necessarily lead to greater job growth. Just look at Egypt, large population without jobs.
I read your article about Christian tithing. My own observation during this economic downturn is that many or for that matter probably all churches are feeling the pinch of lower weekly contributions. If tithing by Christians was truly a requirement of God like so many Pastors teach then I would think that contributions to those churches which taught the tithing should be seeing increases in their weekly contributions, even exponential increases as the years go on. Instead I read of churches walking away from mortgaged properties and other churches laying off staff.
Jim, Sorry, I overlooked you and Don already discussing Singularity. By the way, God speed to you in your surgery and remember, Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals).
Thanks Don. I kind of figured you would say that, and it makes me feel a lot better, considering how confusing things can get. I always would go back to the early Christian maryters who became lion food, or modern day maryters who have been and still are being killed on a regular basis for professing Jesus, but it always stuck in my mind that generally speaking, they had NO WAY TO FIGHT BACK, and had to accept imminent death, with no way of protecting anyone. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
Ken C,
Actually my point was that if man can soon find ways to extend his life past the 70 or 80 years said to be the lifespan in this dispensation – and I think he is getting close to doing that – then we must be very close to the end of the age. Man will only have long a long lifespan in the next age when Jesus is reigning. I know you found my earlier blog where I expound on it a bit more.
Tim,
I really did not suggest multiculturalism at all in my post last month. I suggested that it must be done in a way where immigrants are assimilated into our culture. larger populations don’t lead to job growth in nations that do not have a free enterprise system but it will if we go back to actually having that kind of system. I used Hong Kong as a model. they have very high population density but I do not think they have high unemployment.
The real point was that there is only one way out of our problem and that is through growth. I simply do not see the type growth that will be necessary to keep the dollar strong without increasing our population. Like I said in the article, we have done this before in our history. Adding 3 percent to our population each year for the next ten years is less than what occurred in other mass migrations to America. But, we do need to be very selective about who we allow in. All that is all explained in the article.
Don,
I Have been trying to keep tuned into Warren’s “Daniel Plan.” How much does it seem to be being embraced by Southern Baptist churches?
BTW – Thanks for the “heads-up” on this. I have been able to become prepared to discuss this with my fellow Southern Baptists that may want to embrace it.
Don’t know, I think it is still too early to say.
Don,
On the economy;
We are not getting out of this mess.
Republicans seem to be trying to make a change but the dems and Obama astoundingly are moving ahead business as usual, spend at will with no real cuts. With control of the senate and the white house there will be no deals unless the republicans cave.
What goes on in the minds of these politicians? what kind of back alley deals are going on that makes them make these decisions? They can’t be this dumb, they must know they are driving the bus off the cliff. What makes them do it?
Inflation and no jobs here we come…oh yeah, we’re already there.
Maybe we could build a bullet train that would solve our problems…
Don,
Psalm 83 war and Gog Magog War,
I just finished going through some things on those two wars.
I am amazed at God’s Word and the depth of things available for us to find and explore.
The books of Obadiah and Zephaniah have some really neat insight into possible prophetic fulfilment. There are references there to some judgments and destructions that seem to fit what the Psalm 83 war will probably be.
Just little tidbits in those obscure books that few people really look at.
When its all done and we get a chance to look back at history from the perspective of the Mellinium, I think we’ll all be wondering how we didn’t see it because it’s all written down.
We’ll be like the disciples on the road to Emmaus just amazed.
But before then…
Stay ready everyone; bumpy road ahead.
Don,
One thing that bothers me about our country and the times we find ourselves living in is how the scales of justice are no longer in balance. Our founders envisioned a country with rule of law for all, yet as we hear the news of the day one finds anything but that. We have borders wide open in violation of our laws without a fitting response from the powers that be. We have banking and mortgage fraud without seeing any heads roll for the theft of what I believe may be trillions. We have police officers that are sworn to defend the Constitution doing everything but that. Our lawmakers themselves break as many laws as they pass, all without justice for our Republic. I could go on and on with example after example. We are hurdling out of control and gaining momentum with each passing day. Our rights are being removed because we as a nation refuse to stand and demand them. We are a country with roughly one half paying into the federal tax system, with the other half reaping the benefits. The country will fall because of lawlessness and the inequity that it brings. How long does the Citizen of any nation submit himself to injustice and lack of equitable law. I know that man’s tolerance level is high for such as this, but with our particular Nation’s history, I’m not so sure we will tolerate much more. In my mind we are very near the tipping point.
In closing, I am thankful that God’s scales are level. I am thankful that because of a Savior I will not have to stand up to the letter of God’s law. I am a man that yearns for God’s justice and can’t wait to see it on this earth. To further clarify, a verse from one of my favorite Michael Card songs
“To be so completely guilty
Given over to despair
To look into your judges face
And see a Savior there.”
Thanks Don for this opportunity to share some of my thoughts.
Speaking of economy… and current events… this insane Wisconsin action – it is pure dereliction of duty on the part of the DEMs, but everybody knows that DEMs are lawbreakers. and so are the people that vote for them (which is not an endorsement for the other side of the isle — noting I only endorse the truth / scriptures).
Why is Isreal so important?
Because God said He would bless those that bless them and curse those that curse them. Also the scriptures came from the Jews, as did God’s Son. Salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22), and most Bible prophecy is about the Jews and those that oppose God’s plan for them.
Clint,
“Can you give me one single irrefutable proof of God?” “Yes, your Majesty, the Jews.”
Marquis d’Argens to Frederick the Great, 1779.
Clint,
If Israel is so unimportant…..why does the entire world even bother being so twisted up about it? I find it amazing people can still ask that kind of question when the ‘bottleneck’ as it were, to World Peace (supposedly) is that teeny, tiny, little strip of land……just as scripture foretold. And before Israel became a nation again people used to laugh and scoff at those verses. Why do all the arab countries seem to believe if they had just that one strip of real estate – considering all they do have, that they’d be happy? Oh yeah, because as Arafat said before his demise, “Peace to us is the extermination of the Jews”. Remember that every time they say “We want Peace”. Why has the RCC been so bent on capturing/controlling Jerusalem as well……(rhetorical question). Satan has always tried to exterminate the Jews, but Messiah came anyway – and Satan still wants the annihilation of them (Satan actually hates all men and desires to bring them all to destruction, beginning with the Jews).
Simply put, Israel is important because God said so.

Well the reason I asked is a couple of Church of Christ friends of mine asked me that question. To me Is 66:7-9 is a good argument also. But they say all prophecy was fullfilled on the day of penticost and with Jesus. I think to myslef does not some prophetic passages in the Bible not have more then one meaning/application?
I apologize if this is hard to understand.
Bible prophecy was not all fulfilled at Pentecost that is the error of Supersession Theology (I originally said preterism by mistake, they believe it was fulfilled in 70 AD). Some Christians wonder if some Church of Christ churches are actually cults disguised as Christianity.
Don:
I think about my children. Four year old daughter and 2 yera old son. I think about how to protect them. I thnk of how I have taught my dauhter the pledge and how to salute the flag. and if that will stick
I think about how I am going to afford private Christian schools and trust in God about it.
I think about how america has become a cesspool from when I was a child (I am 40).
I think about how proud I was of our country and now I am ashamed.
I think about, will my children remember the Bible versus I teach them and will they remember my wife and I reading the Bible as they watch us.
I think about the rapture daily.
Thanks
To Steve, I pretty much feel the same way as you. There isn’t a day goes by where I’m not listening for a trumpet or a voice saying COME UP HITHER! Regarding your feeling about this country, and I in no way am trying to rile anyone, I think the realization of the Scripture of us being aliens on this planet is coming home to you. This isn’t our home, and it never will be. The time is clicking down and I really believe every trur believer feels it.
stay strong….it won’t be long. There is NOTHING we can give to our kids{I’m 55 with a 9 year old} that can even remotely compare with the mansion in the sky waiting for us. ABSOULTELY NOTHING. Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
Well I’m out of surgery it went very well so I am very thankful. I doubt I will play soccer again and risk doing this all over again but we will see. Another thing I forgot to mention before was the lack of our politicians to adress any real issue in this country. I’d hear about the war much anymore, illegal aliens, threat from china, etc. It makes me think they all work together despite the name calling
Don,
I am riveted by what is happening in our world and you have helped bring such clarity based on scripture. I would really like for you to continue to connect the dots as time goes by, especially regarding the events in the middle east. The responses to the developments by various countries as it can become somewhat complicated I think. For example, I was reading about the great concerns related to Bahrain for Saudi Arabia and the US dependent upon the response by Iran. This can all be overwhelming due to history between various countries. I have felt so agitated lately because I see so much happening and I can’t bring adequate awareness to others and that is frustrating for me. So continuing to help bring insight into the current issues in the middle east would be helpful to me. Thank you again for all you do.
Just read all these. All i can say is I am so glad I know Jesus. How
hopeless life these days would be without knowing the living
Christ. Also thank you Don for keeping you blog going! Your
Bible based perspectives are an oasis in the desert!
what i find sickening in this country is the reality shows that we have these days, young people in this country follow what they see on the shows and act out in reality. Some of the shows are very anti god and it sickens me when i turn on the tv all i see is perverted reality shows about how sin is great and to do it as much as possible. we need our god to come back to save this country and to make paradise again.
Parents need to keep the trash out of their home.
oh and how can i forget the music videos, those are even worse. basically the music industry and hollywood entertainment industry needs to be destroyed just like damascus will one day.
What’s on my mind is how we can wake up the local churches with what is happening and get them to start preaching what is going on and preaching against the evils that plauge society and inturn them. Its a crying shame that the voice of the prophets(Churches) have been silenced just like what happen in the old testament when evil kings reigned.
Yeah, it seems that most church boards have now been effectively cowed. Pastors cannot even speak on certain topics and lay leaders cannot take stands that might get the church sued or even put the church in some questionable light. God forbid if lay leaders put away their Sunday magazine teachings and actually dealt with real problems in the world and the Church
Don,
I’m back – took your advice.
What is your “understanding” of the X-370 Space Plane. What is the real intended use – not just the PR smoke and mirrors that government flaks putout.
They really are not telling me.
I would think one purposes of this Space Plane is to drop off, pick up and service Top Secret military satellites. The plane would also be a very high tech multi-spectral surveillance platform. I am sure it will be used for whatever they want it used for.
Hi Don
This is a useful post, it allows us to comment on ‘off topic’ subjects.
You really do force one back to the Bible. But don’t expect too much from me, only this small observation.
Daniel 9:27. “The coming Prince will make a covenant with many for one week (7 years), a covenant that allows the Jewish religious observances to recommence, which midway through the week (3 ½ years), the Prince causes to cease by introducing an abominable thing that causes desolation, with those that are desolated suffering injury until the end” (My paraphrase).
Surely this verse shows the coming prince will be revealed as AC 3 ½ years prior to the ‘abomination’, for post rapture Bible students who know their Scriptures will immediately recognise him as Anti-Christ the moment the covenant is signed? If they are anything like some of the outspoken comments on this blog they will not hesitate to air their views, if they have a blog to air them on.
With the backing of evil religion the AC would try ridding the world of Biblical opposition during those first years. Are the martyrs of seal five these believers?
I don’t know; once again I come to a frustrated halt in the first verse of Revelation 7, “And after these things…” going on to mention things that my chronology wishes were prior to seal five.
The only peace I have in my ignorance is the fact that the time of the AC is not mine to face.
If you were to personally witness a divine miracle, would it increase your faith in the Lord God Almighty ?
From the news lately…
What do you think about the Pope exonerating the Jewish people from the crucifixion of Jesus Christ ?
This thing about the pope exonerating the jews is crazy because who does he think he is to declare this.I think this is just more of the anti-semitism that is permiating the world. just another sign of the times. Jesus is coming very soon! Hold your head up for your redemption draws close! Amen
This is in response to the miracle question. We need to be carefull about this because as Jesus said that a wicked and perverse generation seeks a sign. I believe that as you read your bible and have a close walk w/Jesus this increases your faith more than anything. Also be in tune w/the Holy Spirit for part of his work is to lead us into all truth and all truth is the person Jesus Amen.
I think the Pope had an ulterior motive. I have read that the Vatican is the largest single landowner in Israel – so there is a motivation for the Pope to not ruffle feathers in Israel.
What do YOU see as the future or fate of the “Dome Of The Rock” mosque in Jerusalem in the end times (post rapture, tribulation, Jesus arrival) ?
Who really knows? The Temple could be built north of the mosque but that unstable building is not going to survive the great earthquake of Rev 11:13 anyway.
I hope this qualifies as a valid post and not heretical.
It’s said to be, just a factoid of the Bible.
Now, we all do know that the original scrolls did NOT have chapters and verses, this was created by man.
That said…
The Bible consists of 66 books (39 OT / 27 NT).
The book of Isaiah contains 66 chapters, the 1st 39 chapters contain mostly OT writings/prophecies…Chapter 40 starts with “one crying in the wilderness” (John the Baptist) and from there addresses many NT writings/prophecies.
Probably old news for most of you…just something I read recently.
That’s why Isaiah is called the mini Bible by some
Has anyone seen the DebkaFile news today ?
“Libyan rebels sold Hizballah and Hamas chemical shells”
I find this disturbing.
Anyone else ?
Seems that is exactly what happened but you won’t hear about it on the Obamastream media
I would be really surprised if Israel doesn’t get real aggressive with chemical weapon dangers…really soon.
David
It has been uppermost in my mind these last days that Israel must take the initiative in this. I can see a pre-emptive strike against Damascus and Gaza as her only option – and hopefully before the ‘raging nations’ can establish their R2P law in people’s minds.
However the Scriptures make it clear that regardless of how people think (or should I say emote), Israel does not lie down and die because the world would rather she did.
Lord, glorify thy name.
Very well said Brian From Oz. I agree.
I am really glad that Israel is getting more aggressive dealing with the Gaza Strip terrorists.
The insanity that went on over the last few days is so typical of Hamas and the Palestinians in general.
Hamas fires 30 rockets into Israel AGAIN (one hitting a clearly marked school bus, and critically injuring a young boy) then said they wanted a seize fire. Huh ? A seize fire ?
Now, after the IDF starts aggressively pounding them, the Palestinians have now, somehow, becomes the victim. The world news seems to focus on the death toll of the Palestinians …but not on the provocation.
How many times are we going to see this ?
A few weeks ago, they did this same crap with mortars…Israel fired back and hit a house (that was near the mortar launch point and hit the target) and Palestinians want revenge, saying, that “we don’t aim at civilian locations like the illegal occupants” (Israel).
I know Israel is trying to avoid starting a full on war, but how much are they supposed to take ?
Fox News Story…Free condoms for 11 year olds…Are you kidding me ?
Fox News Story…these are the lyrics to Lady Gaga’s song about Judas Iscariot…In the song Lady Gaga sings about her love for Judas, the infamous apostle who betrayed Jesus.—“Jesus in my virtue and Judas is the demon I cling to…I’m just a holy fool, oh baby he’s so cruel, but I’m still in love with Judas baby,”.
Is it just me, or is mainstream America getting a bit too excited about bin Ladens death ? People in the streets are talking like we’ve defeated terrorism, when in reality, we’ve defeated just one figure head.

Jimm’ah, the anti-Semite, is still at it.
From the Washington comPost, In ‘Washington Post’ article, former US president says Palestinian unity deal will prevent violence, lead to peace agreement with Israel.
Isn’t it obvious the opposite is true ?
The irony of it all…
Hitler shot himself dead April 30, 1945.
Usama bin Laden dead May 1st, 2011.
66 years from each other.

A hearing is scheduled Monday before the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans that could determine if students in elementary schools have the protections of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
According to the Liberty Institute, in the first incident, officials banning 8-year-old Jonathan Morgan from handing out candy canes with Jesus’ name on them to classmates at a school party
“Then they confiscated a little girl’s pencils after school because they mentioned ‘God,'” the Institute reported.
“They even banned an entire classroom from writing ‘Merry Christmas’ on cards to our troops serving in Iraq.”
I wonder what will happen to the U.S. once the Government/Code Pink people get their way and stop aid to Israel.
David,
I think they will give money to Hamas to “buy cheese and rockets for the kids.” (Quote from video; “We Con The World and CNN”)
Bob, I’m sorry to say that I think your right.
And there we have it…Obama unveils his true colors again towards Israel…from Fox News
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/05/19/obamas-mideast-speech-offers-punishment-praise/
President Obama, in a sweeping address tackling the uprisings in the Middle East and the stalled peace process, on Thursday endorsed Palestinians’ demand for their own state based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Middle East war.
***Don, your last post was at 4:52pm…could you let us know your OK after the tornado in MO.***
I am at my church most of Sunday evening. The Tornadoes were about 100 miles west of here. By the way, if they had hit me I probably could not tell you that I was OK. Looks like we will have three more days of possible severe T-storms. A new round of storms is moving into that same area that got hit with the tornadoes yesterday right now.
Well Don,
You are my brother in Christ.
All who are on your blog (and any fellow believer I see), I regard as my brothers and sisters in Christ. So, as my family in Christ, I care enough to ask about your well being.
If you didn’t reply by now, I’d assume you were called home, not a bad thing for you, but a big loss for the rest of us.
That would be a very rash assumption. There could be times when I am just not available to respond for days or weeks.
