The truth about the sorry state of our American Union

Here is the truth about the sorry state of our American Union.

  • There have been 50 million abortions since Roe v Wade in 1973.
  • 1 in every 15 people in the United States will actually do prison time. Many more are convicted of felonies but it is a first offense and they only get probation. Many more than that committed a felony but plea bargain to a lessor crime. Also, most crimes are never reported and/or the criminal either does not get caught or is not prosecuted for various reasons.
  • Well over half of all American adults have used Illegal drugs at least once. Half of American school children use illegal drugs before the end of high school. About twenty percent of adults in America use drugs regularly.
  • one in ten Americans are known to be alcoholics, many more abuse alcohol regularly.
  • One in ten adults in American have more homosexual sexual contact than heterosexual contact.
  • Half of marriages in America end in divorce.
  • 95 percent of Americans have sex before marriage.
  • About fifty percent of Americans are in debt excluding their house and cars. If you count houses and cars eighty percent of Americans are in debt.
  • The American government has been spending beyond its means for decades. By 2020 just the interest payment on the national debt will take all the taxes collected in 2010 . Think about what that means for Americans.
  • A million Americans have stopped paying their debts although they have the income to do so. The American taxpayer will pay most of the costs for the payments that they are not making through financial institution bailouts. The rest will be paid by higher loan rates for all. There is no free lunch.
  • Between 15 to 20 million adults and adolescents have either problem or pathological gambling addictions. Americans gamble over a trillion dollars and lose almost 100 billion dollars each year.
  • Those that have enough money to buy influence and media time, are the ones that generally get elected to higher office in America.
  • Sixty percent of adult Americans are obese and a third of their children. We all will pay the long term medical costs for this.
  • 75 percent of young Americans are not fit to qualify for the military because of health, drug use or their criminal record.
  • Half of Americans pay no federal income taxes at all. A large percentage of those get federal benefits from the half that pay taxes.
  • The actual unemployment rate in the United States is about 17 percent not the 9.7 reported figure. Even many of those that are employed are working in near minimum wage service jobs.
  • Inflation in the United States is purposely under reported so those on fixed incomes lose a few percent of their buying power each year. At today’s interest rates you are losing wealth by just putting your money in a bank.
  • There are about 700,000 know sex offenders in the United States and many more have never been caught.
  • There are over 1.3 million pornography websites many involving children. Read the stats yourself, by the way, a third of our clergy are involved in porn. http://www.safefamilies.org/sfStats.php and http://www.blazinggrace.org/cms/bg/pornstats
  • Christianity has been outlawed from the public arena in America.
  • Only four percent of Americans, nine percent of born again Christians and fifty percent of protestant pastors have a Christian worldview.

Houston we have a problem! These are just some of the reasons why America is in decline and there is no political fix.

You might want to add your own additional facts if you have them about the sorry state of our American Union.

  1. Let me add some more statistics….
    *1 out of every 10 high school graduates cannot read or write…but we pass them on anyway!
    *1 out of every 30 children that are born are drug-affected with learning and behavioral disabilities.

    I am a school teacher in the “public secular humanistic” environment. It is getting worse and worse out there. Secular humanism is slowly sucking the life out of our families and our nation. I see no solution but to escape from its clutches via retirement. I’m thinking about leaving even before retirement. Maybe very soon.

  2. Goodness!!!

    At only four-percent of Americans with a Biblical worldview, the rapture may be much less of an “event” as some anticipate. *sigh*

    Oh Abba, I can hardly wait to be in Your presence and to be separated from my sin nature so that I can love and serve You as You deserve! Please use us, Your children, for the time we have remaining; please glorify Yourself in us today!

  3. The government is shoving gay / lesbian pride propaganda down the throats of the workforce, mis-using language such as “diversity” and “affirmation” — I just got a workforce propaganda e-mail today as aforementioned;

    Yet, any “religious” content in a correspondence is banned (even a signature line);

  4. You know, it suspect it’s going to be painful to see all this sin ramp-up in humanity again during the millennial age. Even though, we as believers, will live in our resurrection bodies free from a sinful nature, we will have to see a pristine world rot before our eyes. I cannot imagine who our Heavenly Father manages emotionally with all our rebellion – just another thing that points to the incredible sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for each of us.

    I am *so grateful* that I will not live many more years; I simply cannot imagine how our parents before us could live for hundreds of years. How could they live with themselves an others, being bound to sin as we all are in this life?

    The picture of Hell with fire and brimstone is almost tame when you consider that its inhabitants will be stuck within a conscious death, remembering and regretting for eternity, stuck with the rotting remains of themselves, their corrupted personalities – stuck with themselves forever. Weeping and gnashing of teeth: pain would almost be a respite from that. Abba, THANK YOU for saving me from myself!!! Jesus is my *only* hope, I am doomed without Him! Please remake me into what You want me to be!

  5. Brett, that’s just it; hell, fire, and brimstone are not on the minds of most people, even Christians. It’s not like you’ll turn on the radio or TV and hear about Jesus Christ. Have a good day everyone and stay full of hope.

  6. Hi Brett,

    I do not think sin will ramp up in the millennial age although there will be sin. Jesus and his saints will be ruling earth with a rod of Iron and Satan will be bound. It is after the thousand years when it seems to me that Jesus and those transformed into his likeness depart for the Holy City and leave the earth under the dominion of mortal man that the final rebellion occurs. At least that is my opinion.

  7. Hi Don 🙂

    Yes, Jesus will be ruling with a rod of iron, but the problem is He will need that rod! And there will be enough rebellion by the time the thousand years are up that a whole multitude will follow the evil one and try to overthrow our Lord.

    If we see sin on that scale, just judging from what I see in myself and others now, it won’t begin all at once at that level, it will build worse over time.

    BUT, it’s just my opinion!

    I wonder what I’ll be doing during the millennium? From Revelation, it would seem that we (the Church) will be rulers and priests (Rev 1:6, 5:10, 20:6). I remember reading a commentary on this where the author said you’re going to be in administrators and it’s the “family business” so “get used to it.” I was a bit offended by that because I’m not wired that way – I have no desire order people around nor have power over anyone. Positive, nurturing influence, yes, but long to help people grow, I don’t want to push them around. I am made for that purpose. I also wonder about the priestly part – I am no mediator between God and man, only Jesus is in my view.

    Maybe our understanding of “kings and priests” is too narrow to comprehend what Abba really has in mind for His Church. Somehow, I don’t think He will re-wire me into a different person – that is, I think I will always be “Brett,” but He will remove my sinful nature and heal my inner wounds, and turn my “blemishes” into beautiful birth-marks, redeeming them (and me) to His glory. (In fact, I have struggled with this, my inner makeup and “wiring,” for quite a long time, and God has reassured me that He will make me whole by adding to me rather than subtracting from me {sin-nature excepted}.)

  8. (Sorry for my awful grammar! I was thinking faster than I was typing and omitted several words! My prood-reafing is terrible today!)

  9. They will not try to overthrow the Lord while He is still here. The millennial reign on earth only lasts for one thousand years. Apparently we leave so Satan can be unchained to deceive those on earth once again. They will not be able to point their finger at Adam and Eve because they will be in a restored paradise and become just as deceived by the Devil.

    Jesus cannot defeat all enemies and made the earth back into a paradise if sin is increasing on the earth during His reign. Revelation makes it clear that the rebellion occurs only after the thousand years and after Satan is unchained. The people were not deceived during the thousand year reign. So It is not a thousand year sin build that causes the rebellion. The rebellion comes after the thousand years because Satan is unchained and he deceives the nations.

    I think you will be ruling and reigning with Christ during that thousand years just as the scripture declares. Jesus gave us parables to explain this. One passage says to one servant because you were faithful over a little you will have authority over ten cities. Apparently we will be given different degrees of authority in the millennial reign. It should not be surprising, angels have such authority on earth today and we will replace the angels that fell.

  10. Got another workforce e-mail today.. re: Obama has ordered the government to facilitate same sex benefits… although, there was one phrase: “where not prohibited” (or something to that effect);

    re: millennial kingdom… uhmmm, I’m just trying to get through this “day”; I’ll, uhumm, “worry” about the next thousand years when it gets here… At least I don’t have weeping and gnashing of teeth in my future – I have “He will wipe away every tear” to look forward to and I think that is just swell;

    Although, I hope I get to “rule” with a guitar in my hand!
