The gospel of Judas story is all over the news. The liberals in the church who reject the clear teaching in the Bible now claim special knowledge from ancient Gnostic documents that were declared heresy by the early church. It should not be surprising that in these last days neo-Gnostics would reappear claiming special knowledge outside of the truths in scripture and even present some of the same documents that were condemned as their proof.

I see this as the predictable result of decades of disrespect for the Word. In spite of the great amount of scholarship behind the existing canon and the Bible’s passing all tests no matter how meticulous, these people will jump on any discarded scraps of paper and swallow them as somehow better attested– when they aren’t really “tested” at all.
I run into such people all the time in Christian message boards. They claim the Bible is not meant to be historically accurate and it really doesn’t matter, because it’s all about “who, not how”. First they use that to reject a literal creation week, then to reject a literal Adam and Eve, and then a literal Savior.

Its the same old story, people believe what they are told. Well in general they do. Where this is concerned the majority of people will believe what is being told to them & that all this is true.
The thing is how many people now tend to think for themselves. Just because these are so call ancient documents from the third century. Does that mean that they tell the truth NO! just because these documents talk about a person who’s name is in the Bible Judas, Does that mean that these documents are true NO!. Because it talks about the word Gospel does that mean it is of the Bible / Word of God NO! it does not.
People in general do not think for themselves at all, they tend to believe what they are told & take the easy option out. When they are made to think about what they have been told, they do start to see the stupidity & patheticness of what they are being told.
Take the lets save the earth brigade at the moment, They are saying that the earth is starting to go into a third ice age, but they are still saying that the earth is heating up through the ozone & because of this the polar ice caps are melting & the sea’s are rising because of all this. When both these things are put together you can see just how daft this is, but people are told things at different times & the stupid thing is they believe it all.
So its just the same with this Judas thing, people will believe what they are being told because they will not think for themselves. The main pity of all of this is that because of them doing what they are, they have been so alienated by the powers that be to the truth of our Lord that unless we can break through this apathy that has been created by we know who. We do not stand much of a chance of reaching most people now.

Don I agree completely about the Gospel of Judas and all the other so called Gospels of the Gnostics…
I discovered some pretty amazing things about Gnostics recently..
Look up demiurge… The demiurge is part of Gnostrics lore.. He is an upright serpent with a lion’s head…strange looking creature…
I almost fainted when I read Psalms 91-13 about this creature… It says… we will tread on THE LION AND THE SERPENT.. and stranger still the 2 precedeing verses are the exact words satan said to Jesus in the temptation…Look up demiurge and the verses , you will see what I mean…
This demiurge which is a serpent with a lion’s head has the sun encircling his head and the moon and stars around him….This is most definately the sun, moon and stars astrology theology God forbade in Deut 4-19…It is also what corrupted man and was Gnostics version of original sin.. Gnostics think the actual serpent taught in Christianity was the saviour of mankind after the demiurge destroyed them…. This is why throughout the ancient wrord man worshipped serpents…..I say mind ripping doctreins of demons.. lol

Not only are the false gospels of Judas, john, etc lies but all the doctrines of Gnostics are either untrue or demon inspired..
