Over the last few weeks I have been going through and updating all my 25 world trends articles on my website and it still looks to me that present indications are that Jesus will return 2030-2040 AD. I know that late date does not please the 2012-2019 second coming of Jesus crowd but they simply are wrong, so that is their problem. To find out why they are wrong you will have to read these 25 articles or read my previous blog on why Jesus is not coming between 2012-2019.
Now some of you need to quit whining about how long that is and do something for the Lord with the little time that you have left, because if you really think about it, there is not much time left to work. If you go with the middle date, say 2035, and subtract seven years that is left for the Jews you are at 2028 AD. Also, the Rapture is likely to be at least a few years before then (I think 3 1/2 to 7 years). Therefore, the rapture might happen before or around 2020-2025 AD. So that leaves true Christians only about 10 or 20 more years to get their mission on earth accomplished.
You might also consider that during the time that we have left to work it is going to become increasing difficult to work and that many in the institutional churches will be falling away into Apostasy. We already see that taking place. There is also likely to be the beginning of sorrows or false birth pains within this period before the Rapture. Possibly even the first five seals of Revelation will take place during this time. I think that will play out as a world war against those forcing fundamental Islam on the world followed by persecution of fundamental Christians as well.
I also think the United States will cease to be a superpower during the next decade. So all those that are anxious for the tribulation to get started will have plenty of tribulation right here at home in the United States. Tribulation has already started for some and its going to get much worse.
All the events on the earth that will take place in the next 10 to 20 years will just set the stage for the rise of the Beast/Antichrist. Many pieces are still not in place for the Beast but you will have to read the articles to see why Bible prophecy cannot all be fulfilled as soon as some are now saying. Some are even saying that we are already in the final seven years. That concept must mostly be wishful thinking of those that are armed to the teeth to fight the new world order because it certainly cannot come from any rational interpretation of Bible prophecy.
I think that you could be right. I believe that the rapture will include specific signs and events that should give the believer the ability to know at least a close approximation of the time, the day of the Lord is to be secret, at least to the World. I would agree that 2030 is a probable time for the day of the Lord based on Hosea 6. Marking the event from the fullfillment of scripture of 2000 years after Christ’s death (the time the Messiah was ‘cut off’ from the land. ) The day of the rapture would be approximately 7 years earlier, near 2023. If the Messiah was born in BC 4 as is generally held then we could adjust all of these dates back and then the rapture would be 2019 or 20, and the day of the Lord would be 2026 or 27.
The Middle East is quickly joining forces with China due to currency and Oil. China owns half our national debt and as we default it will quickly dump our currency toward other markets. It will be interesting to see how soon these million men can be gathered.
I think that the inventory of people is already taking place where most in China are undergoing an identification number, India is currently in process of a Biometric Identification – where you will not be able to have a bank account without one in the next few years, Mexico is also engaging in this.
I enjoy your blog, thank you for making me think. It is rare and good to find such a relevant perspective based upon correct theology.
The UN is now passing out free condoms to reduce “global warming” http://www.mail.com/Article.aspx/science/0/APNews/Science/20091118/U_Climate-Population-Growth?pageid=1
And also the 2012 movie is a very popular movie right now.
I agree with you on this article I do not believe we got to much time left. Have you noticed that more frequent earthquakes has been happening lately?
You make some very valid poitns, Don.
The whole 2012 thing will come and go just as Y2K did. IT’s really a laughable non-issue and will just line the pockets of those looking to make a quick buck off of people’s fears, insecurity and lack of biblical knowledge.
One area I believe one has to watch the technology front. How will the Beast be able to monitor and control the financial transactions of the whole world. While our technology is impressive today, the power to control a world-wide financial system like the Bible declares in the end times. We may have broken the petaflop barrier(1 quadtrillion calculation per second), but will probably need to reach 100 petaflops to get that type of control and that is probably 8-10 years out.
Of course, events can hasten things or slow them down. We really don’t know. I believe we will see a Psalm 83 war sometime soon. I believe there will be a prosperous Israel living in relative saftey before the Gog-Magog war, and the ultimate decline of America as a superpower and being eventually controlled by Europe, the new world superpower.
It’s getting close. Time to finish our work and get our house in order.
Dear Mr. Don Koening,
Carry on. This is also a area of interest for me. So I studied a lot, Islamic literatures, Bible, prophecy of Nostradamus etc. Never mind, with due respect to Christianity and Jesus I want to say that there are many common believes between Muslims and Christians, “the 2nd coming of Jesus” theory is one of them, though the objectives of coming to earth again according to the two communities is different.
However, according to my research the exact 2nd coming date of Jesus(Isha) will be in the month of July or September of the year 2028. The details behind the conclusion is absolutely personal. If you feel further interest, then we can share ideas and thoughts later on via personal e-mail not over blog.
Thanks
Amirul
I get many emails from those who feel they know the date of the Rapture or the second coming of Jesus and almost all of them claim different years or dates. The truth is as Jesus Himself said, no man knows that day or hour. I personally think 2028 is closer to the dating of the coming of the Antichrist for reasons stated on this website but 2028 is certainly getting in the general ballpark.
Theories based on non Christian sources carry no weight with me. If events appear to take place according to theory from demonic sources you can be sure it is a deception paving the way for the counterfeit. By the way, I think the Islamic Antichrist theory based on Islamic teachings is exactly that. Nostradamus practiced forbidden arts he got nothing about the future from God.
As Mr.Koenig says rapture will occur somewhere close to around 2020 AD.
The given time line is very accurate.Mihilal Fernando
Several items in prophecy must come to pass before God’s return to Earth.
1) Israel must be surrounded by armies: They already meet this requirement.
2) A nation must field a 200,000,000 man army: China met this phropecy in about 1966.
3) Man must be able to destroy himself: 1st possible in WWII when Atomic bomb was created.
4) Holy Roman Empire must be resurected: European Union 10 primary nations already exists.
5) Three EU nations must give their power to Antichrist: this has not happened yet.
6) Mark of the Beast must be possible: this is already possible.
7) Temple to God must be built in Srael: I think this must be on temple mount. Not happened yet.
8) All these things will happen within lifetime of people alive when Israel was created (1947 – 2062) for 115 year lifetime.
Since noone will know the hour and day 2030-2040 is certainly possible for date of His return.
EruditeMan
It is not quite that simple.
!. Is talking about when the Beast and the False Prophet send demons out to deceive all the kings of the world and all armies of the world come against Israel. We are not their yet.
2. China has an army of a few million today. There is no possible way that she could support and advance an army of 200 million today.
3. There are other ways for man to destroy flesh on the earth besides Atomic bombs.
4. There is little reason to believe that the 10 primary nations of the EU are the ten kings that Daniel spoke about and the EU is certainly not a theocracy yet. When the Harlot theocracy is in place would be a better time to look for the the kings.
5.
6. It may be possible if the Mark is what you think it is but it certainly is not possible world wide today and cannot be worldwide until there is a very high capacity world-wide communication system set up, among other things.
7.
8.There really is little reason to believe that the fig tree parable was talking about the generation from 1948 or that Jesus was referring to your view of what a generation is. See side posts for more information on that subject.
The bottom line is that much of what you said is not the case now, but by 2030-2040 most of these things become likely.
Don,
On #6, from reading tech news frequently, the current global internet infrastructure is more than capable of handling massive amounts of information on every human on planet earth.
Is it being done at this time ?
Is there server data centers already recording everything all people on earth do and is it capable of actually managing data transactions on the fly ?
Well, that…I do not know.
~David
You missed the point on #6 in my comment, I was not talking about surveillance of communication data. I was talking about everyone on the earth being forced to have the Mark to buy or sell anything. Much of the world still does not even have electricity and electronic transfer capability would take new technologies to get to those areas. For example, there would have to be a broadband satellite system that would cover the whole world like the GPS systems do today for location. It is in the planning, but it is not up yet and even after this first generation get in place it is not likely to have the capability to cover all the financial transactions in the remote areas of the world.
Those government data monitoring centers cannot manage financial data transactions on the fly. They are built for data storage that can be filtered and then put in files for possible later retrieval and analysis. We are probably two computer chip generations away from computers having the capability to sort out all worldwide data transactions on the fly. When quantum 3D biological or optical computer chips are massed produced through 3D printing technology and replace the silicon chips that we have today we will be much closer to that capability.
Having said that, the system of the Beast could actually be put in place by Satan and his angels and on that supernatural level it could happen very quickly.
Don,
I did not know on which one of your blogs I should post and ask you the following questions, so I settled on this one, because, although my questions are not specifically related to the date of the second coming, they are in reference to the second coming.
As we all are aware, Revelation is full of symbolism, and you appear to have a good grasp on them, as your writing demonstrates. With this in mind, I was wondering if you have any definite thoughts on the meaning of the symbol in John 19-15, as it relates to the description, and more so, of the location of sword. Specifically, I’m referring to the location from whence the sword is coming forth, which is the mouth of the One that sat on the white horse, and He is called Faithful and True. This rider I take it to mean that it is Jesus whom it is intended to be this Faithful and True one that the sword is issuing from. Why not the hand, where a sword is normally held? The mouth is indeed a very unusual location for any sword to be. Therefore, I’m thinking that the symbol itself of the rider on the horse has a sub-symbol within it, relating to a sword, and yet another sub-sub-symbol, for the location of the sword.
Also, if I’m not being too selfish with my requests, there is something else in Revelation 19-12 and 19-16, which I don’t quite understand. It has to do with the name of the Rider. In Revelation 19-12 John tells us that the Rider “had a name written that no one knew except Himself.” Also in 19-12, preceding the reference to the written name, John is describing the Rider as having many crowns on His head, therefore I’m assuming that the name in 19-12 is referring to being located somewhere on the head of the rider. Then in Rev 19-16, John tells us that the Rider has a name written on the thigh, and this name is definitely known, since he continues and tells us what it is, and which is: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Therefore the questions would be: Is the name that only the Rider knows in 19-12 different from the known name in 19-16? Or perhaps in Rev 19-12, John is just giving us a prelude to the name of the rider that he will reveal in Rev 19-16? I tend to believe that the rider does have two names. The one on the head, as relating to the crowns, and which no one but the Rider knows, and a second one on His thigh, which anyone can clearly read.
What do you think?, Don.
Perhaps you may have already addressed these questions of mine somewhere on your web site, but I have failed to locate them. I would appreciate if you could explain it to me, if you have an opinion on the meaning.
And if you do not care to post this, I would still appreciate if you could email me your own personal opinions, as it would mean a great deal to me.
Thanks,
Frank,
It certainly has nothing to do with the topic of this post so this will be a one time reply on this subject.
The sword in Jesus mouth is His spoken word. One way of looking at it is that Jesus already spoke these judgments on the nations to His prophets and are recorded in His written word. Another way to look at it is that Jesus created all things by speaking it into existence and He will now smite the nations by speaking their judgments into existence.
Rev 19-12 is saying that nobody knows God’s name. The name given in the OT for God is really not a personal name. YHWH means “the existing one” it really is not a name. Even Jesus or Yeshua is not the name of God. They really means that “God is salvation”.
In Rev 19-16 He has a name written “King of King and Lord of Lords” but that is a title not a personal name.
Don,
According to what I have studied and understand from the Bible,I completely agree with what you write.Thank you and I am glad soon we will all be together in our home above.
