The various end time speculations of 2012 never panned out, so it really should not surprise anyone that a replacement theory would now arise in order to sell new hype to people looking for a tribulation that fits their impatient unrealistic schedule. I am talking about the new hype that the blood moons of 2014 and 2015 could fulfill the blood moon talked about by Joel, and Revelation.

People are wondering how the House of Representatives not funding parts of our federal government will all play out. That really is not the main problem because they already funded most of our government in separate bills. About 83 percent of government employees are working again and they all will get paid. The more critical issues is the need to raise the national debt ceiling limit by October 17th or the U.S. Treasury says we could have a debt default.

The early 1960’s certainly were not perfect but the vast majority of people in America led fairly honorable lives back then. The mid 60’s probably were the very last of the Happy Days of Richie Cunningham. That TV program and programs like the Andy Griffith Show or Ozzie and Harriet were not that far off the mark for small town white America in the 50’s and most of the 60’s. Bible and translation seems to have become synonymous but keep in mind that unless you read Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic the Bible you read is really a translation of ancient manuscripts that are distant copies of the original autographs. All ancient manuscripts are not equal and all translations of those manuscripts are not equal.

I thought that President Obama would order an air strike on Syria as soon as this Labor Day weekend, but as I completed the first draft of this article, President Obama surprised me and announced that he would seek congressional approval before he ordered a strike on Syria. I previously was thinking that Obama would just ignore the Constitution and the Wars Powers Act and just go it alone against President Basher Assad of Syria and that is the reason for my “Obama plays one-on-one with Assad but loses control of backboard” title.

Israel has officially started peace talks with the “Palestinians” again. The so-called Palestinians say they want a state between Israel and Jordan but they already are the majority in a state called Jordan. What they really want is to take over land of Israel. Maybe they think the prosperity of Israel would transfer to them if they occupied Israel? Someone ought to tell these delusional dependents that it takes education and hard work to build up a prosperous society. If these Arabs took over Israel it would be a barren desert again within ten years.

You can know if you are a Christian but don’t deceive yourself either

There seems to be some confusion among Christians on how one is saved. So let me try to clarify what the scriptures teach on this.

We first have to acknowledge that we are talking about the Church since Pentecost and not those believers that lived and died before the New Covenant promise was given at Pentecost. The believers that died before this are also covered by the blood of God’s lamb sacrifice but we are not talking about them because the New Covenant had not yet been given.

This week the major news headline is the coup in Egypt. Those that oppose an Islamic Fascist theocracy ruling over them got the backing of the military and the military took over the government.

As usual the Obama administration shows every indication that it is on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood. Those in Washington seem to think that a democratically elected leader should serve out their term even if that leader becomes a tyrant forcing a new constitution and Islamic law on everyone.
