Koenig’s perspectives on Bible prophecy and world issues, Sept 2011

Its been ten years since the terrorist attack on 9/11/01 and we have been pretty fortunate that there has not been a successful WMD event in all that time. If you would have asked me in 2001, I would have told you that I thought that more mass casualty attacks were inevitable.

The reason they have not happened can be credited to our military and our intelligence agencies and the lack of sophistication of the terrorists. If you remember back in those days we were wondering if Russian built suitcase nukes were available to terrorists. Apparently they were not. The Russian general making the suitcase nuke claim was apparently just blowing smoke.

Nevertheless, I would think the next decade will actually see many more terrorist attacks on this nation especially because appeasers are now running America and are enabling the rise of radical Islam all over the world. This administration has also tied the hands of the CIA that protected us from past attacks and might have protected us from future attacks. This administration is no longer fighting a war on Islamic terrorism they mostly are installing a plan for Homeland Security to be our politically correct Big Brother.

I bet the terrorists would really like to pull something off this weekend as a ten year anniversary present to America but I don’t know if they actually will.

Obama came out with his next stimulus plan to create jobs. So what else is new? You probably already heard the definition of insanity even if these socialists have not.

We might ask how Obama intends for us to pay for his jobs plan? The answer is that the plan to pay for it is like all the rest of the recent defect spending plans. Just bill the next generation. Oh…they forgot, they aborted them! The plan now is to have the Senate gang of 12 to just add this additional half trillion dollars to the 1.5 trillion that they already are required by law to cut by Christmas. Obama apparently still believes in Santa Claus.

So will Obama’s proposals actually happen? Who knows? Some stimulus might get passed but probably not as proposed. I think Obama is really counting on opposition so that he will have a talking point to blame the Republicans for the high unemployment in his election campaign in 2012.

If by chance Obama’s plan is passed and the economy does not improve, Obama will just be coming up with new stimulus’ down the line that he knows the Republicans will reject. The strategy is to hope that unemployment drops in 2012. If that happens, then Obama takes all the credit, and if it does not, then the Republicans get all the blame for being obstructionists.

A stupid question that we might ask, is there any real chance that this new stimulus package will work? It certainly will not work for longer than a year because there is absolutely nothing in Obama’s plan that will create lasting jobs. A third of the money in Obama’s plan is to extend the payroll tax cuts which did nothing to stimulate the economy this year because Obama’s stifling energy policy, suffocating regulations, and destructive foreign policy forced higher prices that more than offset this tax cut.

Another huge chunk of Obama’s plan will be to extend unemployment benefits beyond two years. Those unemployment benefits might prevent riots in the streets and give reasons why some do not try to find jobs or relocate for jobs but it does not create jobs. I wonder at what point do they call it early retirement?

Most of the remainder of Obama’s plan will be for schools and infrastructure in the States and is really a subsidy to the States to help them balance their budgets. That sounds like a repeat of the first Obama stimulus that helped balance State budgets but did little to create new jobs.

In any case, the amount Obama is proposing to modernize schools and repave roads is not going to create millions of jobs and the jobs it does create last just one year. The program runs out of money in 2013 and that is when the big tax hikes also hit us under Obama’s tax plan. So elect him again and this downturn will be nothing compared to the one that is coming in 2013.

The problem with stimulus plans is that if they do not actually do much to stimulate the economy, when the stimulus runs out things actually get worse. One of the reasons why we are back to no growth is that most of the first stimulus plans have ended. This plan will only have minor impact on our economy and just push more debt down the road.

The real reason that there has been no recovery is that small businesses are afraid of expanding when they know the country is heading toward more employer paid socialism, higher taxes and expensive regulations. Businesses also cannot get the loans to expand because banks are still holding a lot of bad paper and they do not want to take on more risk. Most everyone in business is waiting out the 2012 election and for good reason. If Obama gets reelected higher taxes and costs of doing business are inevitable and expansion during a downturn is a proven way to go bankrupt.

———————————————————————————————————————-

Growth in our economy in the next year or two may not even be in our hands. Europe is an economic basket case that can take everyone down. The real question in the near future is will the people of Europe allow their leaders to force them to live within their means or will the socialists that won these entitlements riot and replace their leaders?

I think most astute people know the austerity measures in the PIIGS nations are just not going to fly. Everyone knows that piigs do not fly. That means more bailouts will be required in the future or there will be defaults that will crash major banks making the 2008 crash look like a cheap rehearsal.

Therefore, the whole survival of the EU depends on the Germans continuing to bail out the PIIGS of Europe. So what happens when the Germans get fed up with feeding the PIIGS and overthrow their own leaders? They are very close to doing that right now and if that happens the only way the Germans are going to bail out Europe is if they can take control of Europe.

What the Germans did not accomplish using tanks in the Second World War they might accomplish using Marks with strings attached. In other words, the EU might morph into the GSSR although the Germans will probably want to come up with a more appropriate title for the German takeover of Europe. They might change the name of the EU to the “Western European Germanic Alliance of States” (WEGAS). 😯

Its hard to say what happens next in the Middle East. After the Islamists win the election in Egypt I suppose Egypt will become as hostile as it can against Israel without risking the billions in free handouts that America continually sends them.

Obama says we will veto the bid for the Palestinians to create a State. Even Obama knows that would destroy the “peace process” that has been going on since Jimmy Carter. The game plan remains to get the Palestinians to agree to recognize Israels’ right to exist in exchange for 1967 borders.

This peace for land process is even tougher to achieve today than it was when President Carter proposed it because nobody really speaks for all the Palestinians today. Israelis are also divided on giving up land for some nebulous peace with the Arabs that most in Israel know will not really happen. If the Israeli government forced the movement of hundreds of thousands of their settlers there would be a civil war in Israel.

Syria is going to be a real can of worms in the near future. Will Assad of Syria strike at Israel to try to save his own butt? Will NATO go to the aid of the resistance by bombing Syria when Assad does not step down? When that happens what does Syria’s allies Iran and Russia do?

___________________________________________________________________________________

Jimmy Hoffa says his 1.4 million Teamsters Union should take out the son of bitches in the Tea Party. Hoffa claims that they are Obama’s army and that the people he is speaking for working men of America that like a good fight. I know some union people that hate Obama so Hoffa does not speak for everyone in the unions. Hoffa might even have a hard time holding on to his own job as Teamsters boss.

Well I guess one could dismiss what actually sounds like hate speech and actual physical threats to the Tea Party supporters and say that Hoffa was just using political hyperbole but some people believe Hoffa was intending to incite class warfare with his speech. You are hearing more and more hateful and violent statements from the Far Left toward those in the Tea Party lately. Whether these radicals are actually trying to start class warfare in this nation or not, they will indeed create it, if they continue with this hateful rhetoric. By the way, this is the way that the socialist tyrants of history got their power.

Many think that we should take Hoffa literally. When Hoffa says his union workers like a good fight is Hoffa really talking about a physical fight? Anyone who fights in this country will be jailed and sued and it is the Left that pushed such laws where men cannot settle their differences out of court.

Certainly Hoffa cannot be implying using weapons to take out the Tea Party? Under the Left in these union cities they generally are not even allowed to own weapons. About the only thing these Tea Party haters can really do is trash their own nest and that they will do sooner or latter. Hoffa is nothing but a paper tiger because he cannot fight the Tea Party people and win on any level at all with his so called “army”. Half of union members are on government payrolls and actually wear skirts and another half ought to be wearing skirts. Real American men would not vote for tyrants, thugs and communists

Even some of the Teamsters union members support the Tea Party. I think it is time that the Teamsters Union members got rid of their thugs with their thug rhetoric that claim to speak for union members. We that support the Tea Party simply are not frightened by this big wind bag that is blowing around in Detroit. We that identify with the Tea Party are concerned about the survival of America and our Constitution. Threats by Jimmy Hoffa, race baiters, and the propaganda and disinformation whores from the Marxist Far Left will not change that.

  1. Hi Don,

Another article by you is always appreciated as it usually causes me to consider things I might not have otherwise considered. I have a question about your position on the turmoil that is taking place in the Middle East. Are you for the overthrow of the current regimes, ie Syria and Iran, or the overthrow of former regimes that has and is taking place, ie: Egypt and Libya or are you against them being overthrown? The media for the most part seems to beleive their overthrow would be good, in an apparent support of Democracy in all lands. If you are in agreement with them being overthrown, do you beleive the USA should support their overthrow? Or do you believe that a independent nation should decide its own future, without outside influence from other nations? A larger question would be what exactly is going on and why?

While you and I may have a slightly different view on end time matters, I have a “feeling” that something major is happening right now in the Middle East that is going to be a game changer. I just haven’t been able to come to a definite conclusion as to what is going on and why. And I will admit that when I saw the Japan Earthquake, the Mississippi’s worst flood, the record breaking tornadoes and the uprisings in the Middle East and other things I could list all happening in a short period of time, I thought to myself….wow, somebody pushed the fast forward button.

  2. Hi David,

I was one of the few people that was against the first war in Iraq because I knew one problem there would just be replaced with another and that we did not need to get it the middle of it. If we got out of the way these people would be waring against each other rather than against us. Israel also can take care of themselves if we and the UN just got out of the way.

However, having said that we do live in 2011 and not 1980. We simply cannot allow a doomsday cult like Iran to develop nuclear weapons. It would have been simple to take them out and support the green Revolution in Iran a number of years ago. It is getting much more difficult as time passes.

I no not think we should be in the business of Egypt or Libya. Supporting the Arab Spring was a big mistake and it was financed by US socialists. Mubarak may have been somewhat tyrannical but that is actually the norm in Arab nations of the world and Mubarak was an ally of the US and made peace with Israel. Then to turn on him was not only stupid it started this whole Arab Spring thing. It will not turn out to be a socialist democracy movement at all like the Far Left wants. It will turn into Islamic theocracy running the whole area. The Left are fools there will be no democracy in Arab nations.

Where I think this is going to lead is to the war of Psalm 83 where a Arab Confederacy of nations that surround Israel will try to cut off Israel from being a nation.

They will fail and Israel will gain control of much more area. For some reason Iran is not involved. It could be because they were hit before this happens or because of an internal revolution or just because the Arab confederacy kicked them out of their area (Iranians are not Arabs).

At about the same time it seems Isaiah 17 will be fulfilled and Damascus is destroyed and Syria becomes rubble. After that there will be a time of peace in the Middle East until the Gog war of Ezekiel 38-39. If you check out the nations in that war none of the nations around Israel that came in the Psalm 83 war are involved in that war.

That is quite impossible unless a prior war neutralizes them. I think we are on the brink of the Psalm 83 war which I also think occurs some time before the final seven years. I think this Psalm 83 war will start anytime from a few days from now to a few few years from now.

  3. Thank you for neutralizing this Hoffa “wind”;

Yet another stimulus proposal? Only half a trillion this time. Thankfully the House won’t send it Hoffa’s way, but I have no faith in any party (except maybe facets of the Tea Party of course).

Don – let us know, when it happens / aftermath, that you can otherwise confirm the Psalm 83 war (versus “just another war / skirmish”) – not that we probably won’t get it for ourselves, but I like having a reputable watchman confirm our suspicions of scripture. I think we can all confirm Isaiah 17, since Damascus will be gone. I get those two confused, timing wise.

In any case, satisfaction of these two prophesies will expedite the urgency of my end times preparations. While $$ still have some value, I did invest in a portable [folding] boat (sort of a kayak version of a row boat). But, it should improve my small fish catch chances significantly (small fish are plentiful but not entirely accessible). Earlier I invested in a manual well pump that goes along side my existing 240VAC pump. So, water is checked off my list (I tested it and it’s good – by now, the water table is bursting at the seams).

    Blessings.

  4. Its really pretty simple all Arab nations around Israel will come against Israel and their goal is to cut off Israel from being a nation.

Psalm 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
    6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
    7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

Of course this war may have no impact at all on the United States but who knows?

  5. It is my understanding that Israel cannot consider 1967 borders as it would be pure suicide for them…even with the supposed recognition of Israel by the Palestinians.

Didn’t Netanyahu make that clear ?

  6. I wonder if the Palestinian’s would be willing to play the “peace” card, then, if Israel bought into it and gave the 1967 borders…wow, that would be almost instant huge war.

  7. Craig ,
If you have an interest in the events described in Psalm 83 , Chuck Missler at http://www.khouse.org
has a 2 CD set titled The Magog Invasion , An Alternate View . He gets into some interesting
detail about possible Psalm 83 scenarios. Some of Missler’s teachings are available FREE from
Firefighters for Christ , http://www.firefighters.org. They are a tape ministry that orginated out
of Calvary Chapel ( Chuck Smith ) many years ago. Missler has a strong connection to Calvary
Chapel in Costa Mesa , Ca. BLESSINGS!!!!!!!!

  8. I see on Debkafile that a mob of The Muslim Brotherhood burned down the Israeli Embassy in Cairo. So, Egypt moves closer to the Psalm 83 War.

However, they did say Obama “expressed concern.”

  9. Hi Bob From Texas,

And don’t forget what’s happening between the worsening crisis between Israel and Turkey.

Add in some Palestinian statehood dilemma, Syria Assad, Egypt…and how much longer can it go before the powder keg explodes ?

  10. I don’t believe that the psalm 83 war has any direct effect on the USA. From the discussion above, it appears that the psalm 83 war is the next likely prophetic event.

There is something about prophesy that is bothersome or frustrating to me… Take psalm 83 for instance. At the time psalm 83 was written (I would have to look that up), the names of the various state entities are as they were at that time, versus the names that they are today, and yet the prophecy precedes the as future events by, for sake of argument, generations (certainly thousand(s) of years).

It’s hard enough to live my own life and responsibilities when times are “good”, let alone decipher prophecy to understand the impact it would have on myself, family, neighbors, state, world etc. There is the “lost”, that they may be confronted. And then we can turn around and say “I told you so” (not entirely in so many words, per se – it’s not like the prophecy is that precise [on our terms]). But, it is frustrating that a lot of the scripture takes so much studying, investigation, cross checking and cross referencing, etc. It goes infinitely beyond the likes of “paper chase”; I’m thoroughly mentally exhausted each and every business day just attempting to program computers to do as I / we intend for them to do (which is a far cry from what actually occurs – doing what we program them to do).

I think that’s why I like non-digital activities when I turn the light switch off (music, fishing, stupid and generally unobjectionable media, some sports, etc). Anyway, as far as scripture goes, I decided a long time ago to stop memorizing and just try to glean what I can and move on. But it sure can be frustrating to try to “fathom”. Not that I have a point, just getting it off my chest.

  11. thats why i turn to people like don to get all my correct info on end times.(i did do my own studying first to see if i’m following a false prophet or a real one.) Don seems very real.

  12. Craig,

You do not have to know all the details about how future Bible prophecy will unfold. In fact, God made the future things that He has determined for man difficult to understand for good reason. It is not for everyone to know the future things of God, especially Satan and his minions

1 Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

  13. Reference: Don’s post of Sept 10, 2011 in response to Jason

I am fairly certain that with a few well placed “faith seeds” that Don could be awarded a “Certificate of Self Appointed & Anointed Profit.” Then he will only need to complete a course at the Hinn School of Slaying In The Spirit to qualify for the Bentley/Joyner intern program (Headquartered in Kansas City – only a short drive).

  14. Yeah Bob, Then I could place all those anointed qualifications on my wall next to my honorary PHD from my School of Self Importance.

You all can just call me “The Right Reverend Dr. Don the Anointed Oracle” for short 😎

  15. I am begging to think socialism is the lie the world will believe in at the end times, they are looking to it to end all our problems when in fact it is the cause of the worlds problems problems.

  16. Socialism sounds great as long as other people have money. Once the “stash” runs out – then it gets pretty grim.

As long as Don has money, I can take it and give it away and show how much I care. When Don runs out of money – he will just have to work harder – otherwise I will just need to tell others that Don has no compassion.

  17. David, I tend to agree with your thought. Many people place as much, if not more, faith in government as they do in the Creator God. I think because it’s the “easy way”– individuals in socialistic governments offer a life of ease and certainty in order to maintain popularity and control; God’s way says that if you don’t work you don’t eat and that materials and certainty and comfort here in this old world can be taken away in the blink of an eye.

  18. David, sounds like a PLAN, to me. If he objects, we can call him a right-wing, fundamentalist Christian, NASCAR loving, racist, bigot, clinging to his guns,

  19. You can all move in with me if you go work for a living and give me all your money. Heck, there is 20 acres compound here where you can sit and contemplate all the copperheads, ticks, gnats and chiggers.

Soon thereafter I will go away and build my mansion on my other 120 acres of my green hell where you will not be allowed to come. I will come again for you when it is time to collect your paychecks.

  20. Not that I watched any of the proceedings, maybe because I think things are being over-hyped and clearly hijacked for other agendas, but having Obama/Biden attempt this master of ceremonies thing is laughable. Obama and the DEMs have done nothing to make America stronger or more secure. Total propaganda. Their names are NOT written in the lamb’s book of life, if that’s any consolation.

As for the lie… I’ve heard various guesses / conjecture… from trying to lie away the rapture to aliens… I don’t quite buy in to the socialism argument as the big lie (it’s a big lie, absolutely, but I don’t think it’s THE big lie [yet to come]). Frankly, I don’t know what it is. Trying to deflect the rapture will take some major fibbing, that’s for sure.

  21. Not sure if this is the right place for this question… But how is the war of 1967 in Israel not a fulfillment of Psalm 83? Arent the same countries involved?

    Rod in Oregon

  22. Rodney some scholars would say the war of Psalm 83 started in 1948 and has been ongoing but they still think there will be a greater fulfillment in the future. After all, Israel is still surrounded by nations that want to cut her off from being a nation and as long as they have that thought there really can be no peace deal.

  23. Hello Don. Speaking of Socialism, after years of musing I decided that the hidden evil of it is two fold. #1 It practically stops the willing sacrifice of giving from one man to another which I believe is God ordained and thus pleasing to God.#2 It prevents man from feeling gratitude which I believe is God mandated. God obviously loves a cheerful giver but I believe a grateful recipient of His blessings is also endearing to God.

  24. Thanks Don,

I appreciate the clarification. Sort of a rolling fulfillment with a greater “fulfillment” yet to come. Interesting times for sure..

    Rod in Oregon

  25. Don ,
Since you included World Events in the title of this article, I will throw in something
I just read on MSNBC . The leader of the proposed replacement government for Libya is calling
for sharia to beome the basis for any new laws. This is exactly what I expected in Libya and
expect in Egypt. What about Syria , I have no idea how that turns out and Turkey is beginning
to rattle sabres at Israel. I don’t think Assad goes quitely and civil war may go in Libya for
years , don’t write Ghadifi’s obituary just yet, he may unleash some chemical or bio weapons.

  26. Just so you all know. Discussion on most topics dealing with the world or Church are not off the post topic on my monthly perspectives. So have fun.

  27. it is very exciting to see turkey turn against israel it just shows how closer we are getting to the fulfillment of the ezekiel war. im expecting the psalm 83 war to happen in the next few years.

  28. Yeah, but then we’d have the ACLU and every American liberal lawyer defending him…too bad we can’t lock them up also.

I did think it was kind of humorous in an ironic way that Ahmadinejad said, “We don’t have homosexuals in Iran”…well yea, they behead them or burn them alive.

  29. Don,

I did what you said, I’ve been searching through your articles on Damascus being destroyed (by nukes or some say earthquake).

I’ve found bits and pieces but not the entirety of the scenario on your blog.

I’ve done research on blast radius of nukes (apparently aprox. 1 mile overall in the 3rd ring) and the size of Damascus (41 sq. miles). I’ve seen some conjecture on the internet about it, but I don’t trust them.

So, now I’m really curious, what would it take…from your perspective ?

Would it be possible for you to point me in the direction via a link or could you reeducate us ?

  30. David ,
According to Chuck Missler , a nuclear weapon that would fit inside a foot looker or trunck
would obeleriate everything to ash for a radius of 30 miles. Why would Missler know this , he is a graduate of The Naval Academy ( 1955) and served as Branch Chief of the dept. of guided
missles in The Air Force. I don’t know if he is correct , but that is what I have heard him
    say more than once

  31. ~David,

I recently said Damascus could not be destroyed by just one nuke in a comment somewhere but I cannot tell you where.

I do not even know why it is a concern how many nukes it will take? The only way that Israel would completely destroy the city with nukes is if there were rockets loaded with WMD around the city about to be launched at them or already launched at them.

The idea that the city will be taken out by nukes is possible but it is conjecture. A earthquake could certainly fulfill the prophecy and so could a large meteorite. The city could also become rubble as a result of an invading army using conventional tanks and artillery and a sustained air campaign like in world war II.

To determine how many nuclear weapons it would take to make Damascus a heap of rubble cannot be determined without knowing the yield of the weapons. If your talking about just nuclear fission bombs it would take dozens of them. If your talking about hydrogen fusion bombs like Israel certainly has it would probably take 3 to 5 or more depending on their yields. Keep in mind that in that area most buildings are made of stone and they are not going to become a heap of rubble unless they are within a high pressure blast zone.

  32. David and Don ,
It is well know that Missler has high level connections in Israel. It is his opinion that
Israel’s preferred weapon would be nuetron bombs which release extreme amounts of radiation ,
but don’t do a lot of damage to infastructure. However , my understanding of scripture is that
Damascus will be totally destroyed. God knows the plan so why should it concern us. BLESSINGS!!

  33. Don

If Missler said that he is quite misinformed. It would take at least a 100 megaton bomb for that kind of damage and as far as I know nobody has them anymore and they certainly would not fit in a foot locker. I am assuming that Missler was thinking that there would be firestorms that could not be put out and that would burn down the city but 30 miles is really a stretch for even fires from a nuke that size. Futher, under that scenario it would not be an air burst which would further limit the damage radius.

The blast radius for various yields are not secret, anyone can look them up on the Internet.

  34. Ok then, I guess the nukes to destroy Damascus isn’t as viable as the “experts” (like Hal Lindsay) are saying then.

Your right, I don’t need to know how many nukes it would take. I was just trying to evaluate the probability of it.

I thought conventional weps, tanks, air strikes etc, couldn’t be the answer because the destruction of Damascus happens so quickly…but, then again, I guess your both right…it doesn’t really matter, it’s going to be fulfilled regardless of how it’s done.

  35. Don ,
I am not qualified to say Missler is correct or incorrect, but that is what he said. Again , you are more qualified than me to speak on this subject. Do you find it interesting that no
more anthrax has shown up since immediately after the 9 – 11 attacks ? Missler said the nuclear blast would reduce everything within a 30 mile radius to the extent that you could not
determine what the building material was made of , I know he was CEO of several different
defense contractors during his career. I’m confident you know as much about Missler as I know.
I am not defending Missler , only stating what he said. He did say the more elevation of the
weapon at detonation the greater the damage .

  36. Don,

I thought they caught the person that was sending the anthrax.

As much as I like Missler’s teaching I have to tell you that some of his claims have been wrong. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt here and supposing that he was actually thinking about the effects of a 100 megaton bomb and he somehow got that mixed up with a foot locker sized bomb.

    ~David,

Hydrogen bombs can destroy Damascus. Like I said if Syria had given a launch order on rockets located in different areas of the Damascus and Israel got wind of it. Israel might have no choice but to reduce the city to rubble with a few hydrogen bombs even before they could launch them.

  37. I think people have misconceptions about nuclear weapons and they generally think they are much more powerful than they really are. Sure it would destroy a large part of a city but the blast radius is alot smaller than most think. Radiation would prob kill more people in the long run.

  38. Don ,
Totally agree that Missler is sometimes out there in left field, prime example was Y2K . Don’t
know anything about the capability of some of the new high intensity laser beam weapons, only
that there is a lot of research in that area at some defense contractors.

  39. Jim,

Yep, I was one of those…I was surprised to find out that a nuke only has an immediate impact of about 1 radius mile…and the article I read said that happens in 3 (very quick) stages…but yea, the radiation afterwards seems to be the big killer.

I think, kind of what Don Fritts is saying also…what about the weps we know little or nothing about.

Whatever, I was just trying to get an idea of what we are talking here…Don K’s explanation gave me a good idea, thank you.

  40. David and Jim ,
My knowledge of nuclear weapons and their desructive capability is ZERO. From pictures I have
seen of the two Japanese cities we bombed in World War II it seems the destruction was quite
widespread. It is generally agreed ( I think ) that present day nuclear weapons cause much more
destruction. The end of Damascus could come about the same way as Soddom and Gomorrah were
destroyed and none of us may be here to know.

  41. Don,

This is from your comment on 9/13 @ 9:18 in reply to Don Fritts:
    _____________________________________________________________________
I recently said Damascus could not be destroyed by just one nuke in a comment somewhere but I cannot tell you where.
    _____________________________________________________________________
It was in reply to a post of mine, a couple of days previously, about a Hal Lindsey speculation that Syria might accidentally blow up Damascus, themselves.

  42. Hi Bob,

That is true but I think I was actually thinking of a even prior comment where I went into detail why Damascus would not be destroyed by a accidental nuke fired from Iran at Israel (or something like that). Anyway, I made pretty much the same point that I made here.

  43. I also don’t believe that radiation would cause as much widespread death / disease et al – I remember reading that, but I can’t recall where. The radiation would escape into the atmosphere. I recall reading that if you were, say, 30+ miles from a blast, your chances of survival are very much greater than you might otherwise think or have been misled.

I am not concerned with death, per se – problem solved. Instead, as with an EMP, I’m more concerned with survival.

As for Damascus being destroyed, a la Isa 17 – what is the timeline there? Before or after psalm 83 or is that up for discussion?

When I was adolescent, prior to being saved, I recall having some pride in the fact that the USA was an ally of Israel, even though I was completely ignorant of the truth. Now, the state of the USA, and also it’s somewhat adversarial relationship to Isreal, makes me cringe.

  44. Comment on Don Fritts comment of 9/13 @ 1:15 PM:
    ____________________________________________________________________________
The end of Damascus could come about the same way as Soddom and Gomorrah were
destroyed and none of us may be here to know.
    ____________________________________________________________________________
Good point! We make assumptions – but God has many alternatives from which to choose

  45. Craig,

“As for Damascus being destroyed, a la Isa 17 – what is the timeline there? Before or after psalm 83”

The last I read these passages the Bible was not telling anyone which came first.

  46. Hi Frank,

No I did not see it. It just verifies what I said in my last post of a couple of hours ago. Refresh your bowers if it does not appear.

What I said is that Turkey and Pakistan should be removed from NATO and that Israel and India should become members.

The reason Turkey acquired these jets from us is that they are NATO members but they now are only using NATO when it suits them. Turkey will prove to be Islamic enemies of the West.

  47. The Palestinian statehood vote at the United Nations may get slotted for either Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur, according to word that has reached Israel’s Foreign Ministry. Placing the vote on either of these upcoming holidays would act as a way to get Israeli diplomats out of the room, unable to offer a final contrary opinion before ballot time. As Itamar Eichner writes at Ynet News, “If the vote is held on Yom Kippur, there will not be a single Israeli diplomat at the UN.” The significance of a UN vote to create a Palestinian state on the Jewish new year will not be overlooked.

  48. David ,
It is irrevelant when the UN votes on anything. They are a useless and corrupt tool of Satan.
God has Israel’s back always and God + zero = a majority. I am surprised Obama is not supporting the Palestianians on this , MUST be a political reason.

  49. Jordan is the place where these people dwell. In fact, I believe they are now the majority population in Jordan. The UN should tell the King of Jordan that these people want their own state or the Palestinians should just overthrow the King of Jordan and they will have their own state. Let’s see how that flies.

They will have a better chance of doing that than ever taking over Israel and getting rid of the Jews which is what they really insist on. Does any sane person really think that they just want to pick up and move a few miles west? The Palestinians are nothing but a world sponsored Arab hate Jews cult.

  50. Don ,
I think the heart of this whole issue is satanic. It has been stated over and over that Islam
wants to exterminate Israel out of existence. If there is no Israel then Israel cannot ” Look
on Him whom They have pierced and mourn as One mourns for an Only Son . ” Satan has a stake in
this , if he could destroy Israel out of existence he apparently believes he can prevent the
return of Jesus. Hard to understand why or how Satan can believe he can thart God’s eternal
plan. I agree with you that Jordan is The Palestinian State. The other Arab states could care
less about The Palestinian People, history proves that to me. The Arabs hate each other , the
only thing they have in common is Islam.

  51. Don Fritts,

I agree…but that is so awesome…God + zero = a majority, how true and how awesome the Lord is : )

    Don K,

Yep, ‘Arab hate Jews cult’ is a good way to put it. American Church Replacement Theology is another one in that camp I think.

I find it stunning that anyone on the planet can’t see how obvious it is that God has a plan for Israel and those that come against Israel are going to parish.

All of you people on Don’s blog here, thank you so much for inspiring me with the Truth Of God’s Word : )

  52. David ,
God Himself started and established Israel as a nation . History is clear that God has dealt
very harshly with Israel for their disobedience . In spite of all this , He declares that Israel is ” The Apple of His Eye ” People need to really consider how harshly God is going to
deal with those who curse and try to destroy Israel. Satanic blindness prevents people from
understanding that ” God does not bluff ” and the consequences are eternal. Attacking Israel
    is suicide!!!!! BLESSINGS!!!!!!!!!!

  53. Yeah Don Fritts, ain’t that the truth…hey, I have a question for you Don Fritts…why are your sentences and paragraphs always broken up ?…is it because you type it on a portable device or copy it from a word processor ?

  54. David , I wish I knew why my sentences and paragraphs are broken up. I type on the keyboard of my PC. Any suggestions???

  55. Don Fritts,

If you are not manually putting those sentence splits in the reply box, then the only thing I can think of is that a program, possibly running in the background, is forcing an odd formatting…which can happen with some word processors.

Whatever the case, I love what you have to say so we’ll deal with it : )

  56. David,
Possibly the background program running is Windows Live Messenger which I never use so I will try to remember to close it when I start my computer. It is rare for me to have multiple programs open at the same time.

  57. If anyone is interested, Hal Lindsey http://www.hallindsey.com has some really good free videos that can be accessed from the front page, then to the Media link.

For those that don’t have broadband, you can download just the audio via your dial up connection also.

I just found this myself so I thought I’d share it.

  58. According to the UK Guardian, President Obama is quoted as saying:
    ______________________________________________________________
President warns other Middle Eastern dictators, particularly Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, that they could be next
    ______________________________________________________________

Since the US is probably too far for his missiles – he may make the mistake of sending rockets into Tel Aviv.

Israel has already warned that Damascus will be leveled if Assad does that.

  59. Bob,

    Did he really say that?

I think I read that someone already gave Assad the message that He has to implement major reforms by spring or NATO will take action. I think it was Turkey that told him that. So there probably won’t be anything done until then.

  60. Bob

Yeah, I saw it myself on Fox. That is a dangerous position to announce. Some Arab leader might actually think he intends to kill them and then attempt to do something about it.

  61. I was just talking to someone about Damascus recently.

Again, I can’t help but think that even if Damascus was destroyed today…if the majority of people here in the U.S. would blow it off as “doesn’t concern me, happened over there” attitude.

I think no matter how absolute spot on the Bible proves itself to be in today’s world, many will still not see it.

  62. ~David, Your assessment is probably correct.

When ME discussions come up, I have found 2 questions helpful in opening dialog:

    1. Do you know that the prophecy in Isaiah 17:1 is still unfulfilled?

    2. Do you realize that Damascus is only 35 miles from the Israeli border?

There are those who are die hard anti-prophecy advocates who will scoff. But, it seed has been placed in their brain.
