I think an analysis of present political realities is in order.

If you are aware of present political realities of today, the news headlines of tomorrow may not come as a complete surprise.

Obama is going to withdraw from Afghanistan but it will take until 2014 to do it. Meanwhile, nothing has changed for the better in that area. In fact, things are growing worse because the war just created more radicals in Pakistan and Afghanistan that hate Americans. So there is no reason to think that these areas will not become terrorist training grounds in the future.

Bashar al-Assad of Syria has killed well over a thousand people in Syria and he is creating quite a humanitarian crises by destroying the towns of people that do not support him and their very livelihoods. Many people trying to escape his military repression are crossing over into Turkey for protection. Turkey is now telling Assad that he needs to step down but Assad is not going to do that unless he knows his head is on the chopping block.

So Turkey is now talking about invading Syria and taking a buffer zone in Syria to protect the people. Keep in mind that Turkey is a NATO member so NATO with the US might soon be dragged into another war if shooting starts between Syria and Turkey. I am sure that NATO’s demonstration of “power” and lack of resolve in Libya does not exactly have Assad shaking in his boots.

Greece is just one of a series of time bombs in Europe. I think the rich EU nations will blink again and they will continue to bail out Greece even though they know quite well that the austerity measures in Greece will not take place because the people of Greece will not allow it. The alternative of not continuing to bail out Greece would bring civil upheavals and the end of the Euro. Nevertheless, with the EU throwing more money down this Greek black hole it just makes the other free-lunch-PIIGS nations think that mass demonstrations will also give them more German wiener schnitzel. The demands of these people that continue to spend beyond their means will cause a much worse crisis in Europe not very far down the road.

We have that same problem right here and once the interest rates go up, and they will, all hell will break loose in this nation. Whoever occupies the Oval Office during the next term in the United States will have all that to deal with and it’s not going to be pretty picture.

It now seems to me that many in Bible prophecy have been a bit hasty about the timing of the next major war with Israel. People that study these things were expecting the next major Arab war with Israel to start “any day now” for the last couple of years. I think this Arab Spring uprisings delayed what some of us Bible prophecy people expected to happen even though the Arab Spring will turn out to be the event that allows the scriptures to be fulfilled exactly as written. It seems that due to the Arab Spring uprisings the Psalm 83 war will not occur quite as soon as some of us thought.

At this point it is difficult to figure out the timings because we do not know how long the Arab Spring uprisings will play out. Nor do we know the end result of the uprisings in the different nations and how that all plays out with Israel. We can speculate but your educated guess is probably about as good as mine at this point. Even if the Arab Spring brings democratic elections to some nations nobody really knows how long it will take for these Arab nations to get their act together and come together so that they can focus on Israel rather than on their own internal politics. It really could be a few more years than we expected.

Just last year it looked like Iran would start a war with Israel through its proxies but Iran is now losing control of the Arab nations. The Sunni Muslim brotherhood in the Arab states will not have Shiite Iran as its leader. The leader of Syria that was Iran’s ally might not even survive the year and Saudi Arabia is taking action on her own to oppose Iran in the Middle East. We might soon see why Iran does not come against Israel in the war mentioned in Psalm 83.

There is also the question of just how long the West can continue to allow Iran to develop nukes? Even through Iran will not have a large nuclear arsenal for years they could even now be an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) threat to Europe and the United States.

The reports I read about the nuclear test program in North Korea makes me think that they are now a nuclear EMP threat to South Korea, Japan and very soon the United States. Their nuclear tests apparently were not failures as reported by the US. The two nuclear tests probably were testing to achieve maximum gamma rays for an EMP rather than a test to achieve maximum explosive yield.

The North Koreans may have received this EMP knowledge from the Russians quite a while back. Now there are reports that N. Korea may have learned to miniaturized their Plutonium nuclear weapons so they can be fitted on their missiles. If their own development of these weapons is not dangerous enough to the world, they are selling their EMP and missile technology to Iran and building Platinum reactors in other rogue nations. The missile tests of both N. Korea and Iran emulate testing for an EMP attack, so unless US Intelligence is now full of complete idiots we know what they are shooting for.

Meanwhile, we continue to do nothing in the US to prepare for an EMP. It is estimated that it would cost only a billion dollars to make all of our main high voltage transformers able to withstand a solar or nuclear EMP. As of this writing this money to harden our transformers has not been passed in Congress and if and when it does happen it still will take years to get the job done. Meanwhile, if a solar or nuclear EMP occurs it could be the end of this nation as we know it. Read my earlier posts on this EMP threat and you should get the message about the present realities.

John Huntsman just announced that he will be running for President as a non Conservative Republican. He is not as far Left as most Democrats but his chances for the Republican nomination are zero, so I really do not see the point. What delusion even makes him think he has any chance? I guess he is running to feed his ego or perhaps in hope to be picked as a Vice President candidate or to be appointed to a Cabinet position.

It would be something if his fellow Mormon, Mitt Romney won the nomination and then picked him as VP. An all Mormon ticket with a Glen Beck Mormon cheerleader would certainly be a new direction for this country. I can just see our Postmodern Evangelical leaders and the New Apostolic Reformation leaders failing all over themselves to get Mormons embraced by Conservative Christians as if they were real Christians. Of course, I don’t really think that this will happen.

Looks like Newt has about killed off any chance that he had, all by himself. Perhaps he is planing to follow the footsteps of John McCain and come off the ropes with a last round come back. Maybe he should first call the NAR leaders and get some more of their anointing?

Cain is not going to go anywhere. He might be a good businessman but there is more to running the US government than running a corporation. There are some issues with Cain that I think will end his chances.

If Rick Perry gets in the race I think he will win the nomination. However, I hope that you do know that you’re just going to get another George Bush by electing him. Perry takes credit for what is going on in Texas but all that prosperity in Texas really came from the conservative programs that came out of the conservative legislative branch in Texas. Perry is really not that conservative and he runs the state in some ways like he is Big Brother. So he might concern me if a republican Congress was just rubber stamping his agenda. I just do not see him downsizing government, but I do see him continuing on the path of the North American Union and Big Brother globalization.

Michelle Bachmann is a true Christian conservative but I don’t think she can win the big states and the South and she is a bit weak on leadership experience with only two terms in the lower House.

I don’t think Palin will run, she probably will look to be the kingmaker and hope for a VP appointment or something like Energy Secretary.

Ron Paul can’t win in this country. He adds to the debate but he will not be elected.

I think the rest that are now in the race are actually running on unrealistic hopes, dreams or ego. They should be happy to get a Cabinet position in the Republican administration.

Unless someone unknown comes out of the woodwork this is going to come down to Romney and Perry from the republican establishment and I think Perry would win that match up. If Perry does not run it will come down to Romney from the establishment and Bachmann who would get the support of the Tea Party and most true Christian Conservatives. Just who would win that match-up is yet to be determined. If Perry does not run there is also a chance that Hucklebee would come back in or that DeMint will run (He might run anyway). If Perry was out Hucklebee would probably win the nomination over Romney but I do not know who would win in a DeMint Romney match-up.

  1. I don’t have a link to the article I read yesterday, but it was from a major news outlet and it stated that Obama is planning to announce an action (with NATO of course) against Syria in the coming months. I think it even mentioned sometime around November. All of this is going as I predicted a few weeks ago when Syria began shooting its own people. Unfortunately, the US will continue to be used by the Devil to set-up the end-time nations that will rise up against Israel. The Turks are going to have a field day in Syria. Believe me, they are licking their chops at the opportunity to devour Assad and Syria.

    Another great article, Don.

  2. Don’t forget “the Donald.” He has stated that if he feels the GOP nominates a loser against Obama, he will run as an independent. I plan on watching and praying, I’ll vote for any of the above over the current anti-American occupant in the oval office.

  3. Don

Your comments re. the Arab Spring, with the Psalm 83 war being further down the track, really gelled as I read them.

The rumour going around that the Palestinians may drop their demand for recognition by the UN is more grist to your mill. I was half expecting that demand to produce explosive tension before the end of the year.

I was looking forward to an Israeli triumph, but am also excited to see how these other conflicts clarify the Biblical picture for us as they pan out.

  4. Don,
This is somewhat off topic, but I wanted to get your opinion regarding the possiblity that the Antichrist might be muslim. I just read Joel Richardson’s book “The Islamic Antichrist”. I had never considered this option previously; however, the book makes a strong case. Have you read the book, and have you considered this? Forgive me if you have already addressed this topic.
    Mark

  5. Mark,

Yeah its off topic and it has already been discussed a number of times. Here are but a few posts.

    https://www.thepropheticyears.com/wordpress/will-the-antichrist-and-his-beast-government-come-from-islam.html
    https://www.thepropheticyears.com/wordpress/bible-prophecy-wars-over-an-antichrist-out-of-islam.html
    https://www.thepropheticyears.com/wordpress/debunking-a-muslim-beast-antichrist.html

By the way, that last post is in the top three viewed posts on this sidebar. Also follow the links in the articles and read all the comments. I believe Joel Richardson even gets in the debate on the last link above.

There are several other posts on this topic as well. Just use the search box in the top right and type “Islamic AntiChrist” or “Muslim Antichrist” and review the teasers to see which ones are most appropriate.

i just want to add, one side of a argument always sounds good until you hear the other side.

  6. Thanks Don,
Back to the topic. I was concerned about the Arab Spring from its inception, as it will open to the doors of power to those most ruthless and determined: the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt for example. I am certain that the end result of the uprisings will mean less freedom for its citizens, and a more hostile stance toward Isreal and the West.
Regarding the vulnerability to EMP attack; it is truely amazing that our government is not doing more to protect us. A successful, large scale attack would lead to mass riots, anarchy and likely thousands of deaths, secondary to the collapse of our electronic infrastructure (for which we heavily rely). If I were an enemy to this country, I this would be my main area of focus secondary to the devestation to would wrought.
As for Perry, I do not know much about him. However, I liked what he said recently about Conservatives not needing to please Liberals. I find this a folly of the majority of “conservatives” in politics.

  7. As always Don, another great, thought provoking article.

As far as the Middle East situation, I think it is always a loaded powder keg so it’s very hard to predict.

I’ve read the UN is pushing Israel to accept Palestinian statehood by September, add to that, Obama still seems to think everyone will play nice if Israel will only revert back to 1967 borders.

I heavily doubt that Israel will cave into the 1967 border nonsense, those would make for truly indefensible borders.

I believe if any land concessions by Israel are made whatsoever, it would be a prelude to a huge war (Psalm 83 ?) quickly as I think that’s all the validation the Palestinians would need to claim what they believe is theirs…Israels land…or as they call it, the occupiers land.

Bashar al-Assad, Abbas, and others from the “religion of peace” are blaming Israel and the U.S. for the Arab Spring.
Their rhetoric still points toward getting rid of Israel and the U.S. to cure their Middle East problems.

This is what I get from reading the news anyway.

  8. Rick Perry or Mitt Romney for the Republicans and Obama or Hillary for the Dems. Wow! We are getting what we deserve for being so worldly and compromising about our beliefs.

  9. Don ,
You’re a tough act to follow. Your perspectives are so right on and accurate that trying to
add anything is almost an exercise in futility. One thing I find very interesting is the absence of Iran in the Psalm 83 conflict. This whole Arab Spring situation has more questions
than answers at present. Blessings to you !!!!!

  10. Supposedly the real power brokers at Bilderberg are saying Rick Perry for President and Sarah Palin for VP. I guess after the election (assuming there is one) we’ll know if that’s right or not.

  11. I think Huntsman is “stalking horse” for Romney. he can take the heat for being a Mormon and make Romney look good.

Rick Perry is something of a horror. he;s now allowed changes in Texas that mean, basically, you don;t even have the right to breed a dog.Animal rights activists got everything they wanted. Think about that-you don;t own your pets. where does it stop? does a farmer have the right to own his animals? do we have any rights when it comes to our children ( get the drift?)What other rights does he think expendable?

Animal rights activists love to ply politicians with $$$$ and they keep putting stupid bills up with this guardianship or “zero breeding” ordinances. I think the politicians just like the money and more ways to tax and fine everyone and everything.

It;s just an example…I personally don;t know who I could vote for in the next Presidential election. and there is the real point-man made solutions really don’t work. We should be building up the Church (I mean all believers) and getting ready to take care of each other as things worsen. And teaching the love of Christ.

He had a lot to say about man made politics…and sin….and about changing the hearts of men.

  12. David ,
Is is possible for us to know who thev real power brokers among the Bilderbergers and the CFR
really are ? Perry would be percieved by the voters as almost a carbon copy of Bush # 2 . That
is of course strictly my opinion about Perry. I do not understand all the fasination with Palin

  13. Hi Don Fritts,

I don’t know if we’ll ever really know specifically who the real power brokers are working behind the scenes and pulling Washington’s strings. We hear so many things, from the Bilderberg, Bohemian Grove, Luminati etc. I have no idea who or what organization is real or not. What’s real and what we do know is demonic forces are, obviously, behind the mess.

I’m in total awe of how Gods Word, the Bible, predicted man’s plight with such precision and I’m still learning so much from Gods Word every day…just awesome stuff.

Sarah Palin, I think “represents” the All-American woman of today. She has serious convictions and is quite intelligent. She actually has a positive political track record as governor of Alaska…which is more than we can say about Barry.

  14. It was ignorant of me to post above that those organizations ( Possible Power Brokers: Bilderberg, Bohemian Grove, CFR, Luminati etc ) might be pulling Washington’s strings…when it’s the world stage, not just the U.S. that they would effect. It’s not about the U.S., it’s about the world.

    Just wanted to clarify.

  15. I agree Faith, Rick Perry is bad news. I think I read somewhere he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

  16. Current thinking seems to be that Perry will formally announce his candidacy shortly after the big rally in Houston. Two major churches are endorsing the rally and they want to keep it “non-partisan” so the IRS does not visit them.
