America has cooked its own goose and here are fifty ways how she accomplished it. I am sure you could come up with many more of your own. It seems to me that about the only thing left is to stick a fork in us because America is about done as a nation. Its probably too late to save the golden goose once the meat is already falling off the bones.
- The Bible directs parent to train up their children in the way they should go. Parents did not, they allowed secular humanist Marxists in schools and media to train up their children in the way they shouldn’t go.
- Christian parents refuse to spend the money to take their kids out of worldly brainwashing public indoctrination cesspools called public schools, even though they have been warned about the dangers to their children many times over.
- By purchasing various high tech media devices for there children Christians have enable their kids to be fed trash and exploited,
- Many Christian parents were not good Christian examples to their families, they loved participating in every new fleshly excess that came along. Their own divorce rates are just as high as non believers.
- Christians churches usually got Bible school graduates and hirelings to become elders over them rather than taking a proven individual from among their congregations and equipping them for leadership. Thus, many churches reap the consequences of this stupid unbiblical way of choosing an elder.
- If Christian leaders cannot even raise their own families in the way they should go and raise them in the knowledge of the Lord how can they lead the Church? Paul implies they cannot.
- The vast majority of so called Christians in this nation have never read through the Bible even once in their entire lives.
- Christians allowed their church leaders to water down the gospel as if you can grow the Church without giving the gospel.
- Christians allowed elders to Lord over the flock rather than confronting them when they got off track.
- Christians did not hold their elected officials accountable to keep our Constitution or our Christian culture.
- Christian leaders often taught a form of pacifism and blind obedience to government. This nation was never founded on any such concept, nor does the Bible teach it.
- Christians eagerly followed greedy messengers that itched their ears about gaining wealth, health and prosperity. The message is self centered rather than Christ centered.
- So called Christians in America are giving up sound doctrine and replacing it with a smorgasbord of postmodern all paths relativism and mysticism.
- Americans turned a blind eye to all sorts of evil men for their own personal gain.
- Christians in America often accommodate sin rather than confronting the sinner.
- Americans now not only allow perversion, they celebrate people that flaunt every sort of perversion in public places – for example, supporting gay pride parades.
- Americas killed their young in the name of convenience by pretending that they were not yet life forms. Yet, this was the generation that would have supported the baby boomer generation in their own old age.
- The God of many Americans is money and material possessions.
- Many greedy people are actively robbing the poor through various kinds of frauds.
- America worships and supports media idols that are anti God and anti Christ.
- Most Americans bought into the philosophies of the world, for example, evolution, psychologies, rote prayer, spiritualism and mystical experiences over God’s revealed truth.
- Leaders of our nation have become delusional. They think peace will come by appeasement of those that hate us. They disrespect long term allies and kowtow to the world’s worst tyrants.
- America is in denial about the goals of Islam and America will reap the consequences of living with our head in the sand.
- America has failed to protect her borders and we will reap the consequences in more terrorist attacks and in social welfare costs.
- America’s education quality is falling farther and farther behind other advanced nations. That makes it increasingly unlikely that we will lead the world in the future.
- Americans are getting fat and lazy and life spans have now actually started falling.
- America has about the highest prison incarceration rate in the world. The prisons have become animal houses and a place for hardening criminals and creating homegrown Islamic extremists.
- America is increasingly relying on impersonal militarized police forces to police their communities, that is leading to abuses of power and tyranny.
- Half of the people in this nation contribute very little to our system of government but they demand a whole lot of support from the system and taxpayers.
- America is becoming so dumbed down that they graduate people out of high school that cannot even make change for a dollar and need help just filling out a job application form. They do know everything about politically correct government indoctrination programs, but they are not prepared to contribute to society.
- Virtually all teens are having sex outside of marriage and half are also using illegal drugs.
- Americans do not live within their means. For example, government is spending $1.40 for every dollar it takes in and is passing off the debt to continue to live beyond their means to their children.
- The government Social Security program is taking in many billions less than it is paying out. This will increasingly impact the budget deficient. The money for this was supposed to be secure in a trust fund but the government borrowed the whole fund. So, now taxpayers will have to make up the yearly shortfall that should have been there.
- Medicare is not sustainable, it will soon make the short fall in Social Security look like small potatoes.
- The votes simply are not there to cut entitlements. The majority of the American people will not allow them, so the national debt will keep growing.
- Just paying the interest on our national debt will make up 25 percent of our budget within this decade. If interest rates rise to just the historical norm our goose is cooked. That, by the way, is inevitable.
- God and Jesus have been stripped from media, public schools, and the public arena in America.
- America is no longer blessing Israel and is close to becoming a curse.
- Americans that even claim to be Christians, are become increasingly hostile toward any true Christian message.
- America’s media now regularly blasphemies Jesus on TV and in Movies and those that actually believe in the God that created all things are portrayed as nut cases.
- America has become so blinded to truth that it elected a known Marxist to become President mainly because he was black and they elected a fitting Marxist administration to support him.
- America has now shipped most of its jobs overseas. That is the reason for the high unemployment. If that $500 billion trade deficient last year was kept in the U.S. and products were bought here with it, we would not be having such high unemployment.
- Americans have allowed radical environmentalists to prevent us from developing new sources of low cost energy. Now we are going to be held hostage to energy pimps and government will use the shortages to control every aspect of our lives.
- Government is regulating everything and that is destroying everything that made America great.
- Individual rights are continually eroded and taken away in the name of national security but the government will not deal with the real problem – Islam, Marxism and illegal immigration.
- Mind altering drug use and intoxication is a national pass time and the turf wars over drug money is getting tens of thousands of people killed.
- Special interests and perverts will now destroy our “all volunteer” professional armed forces. Christian chaplains will not be allowed to preach parts of the Bible or counsel people on certain sins.
- Most young men cannot qualify for our military because they cannot even get the minimum score on the service entrance exam or they are felons or they cannot pass the physical.
- America is now totally dependent on electronics and electricity. This nation would cease to exist without having this electrical force for even a few weeks. Nonetheless, it is only a matter of time before this electrical force fails us for one reason or another.
- God really has no reason to bless America anymore since most in America deny Him in word or deed, so It looks to me like Americans have already cooked their own goose.
Don,
A ringing indictment against both our nations and a clear ‘wake up’call for ignorant believers leaving them no where to go but to the feet of our Lord. May they feel the fires and wake up.
As in the US so also in Australia. The only hope is individual – and that in Christ.
How relevant is that little letter of Jude’s, especially his exhortation to those who are aware of the evil.
Most people are proud of the country of their birth. We are no different. I grew up saying the pledge of allegiance every morning in grade school and had a patriotic love for ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave.’ I just finished a commentary on the book of Daniel and was struck with how man and God’s views of the nations are different. Take the two visions of the Gentile empires who would dominate the Jews and trod them down during the “times of the Gentiles”; the first one was given to Nebuchadnezzar and the second one to Daniel. The first vision is from rebellious man’s perspective and it is presented as a brilliant, glorious human image. People are just prone to pride, arrogance and blindness when it comes to their homelands it seems. Daniel’s vision was from God’s perspective and what God sees in regards to the same Gentile dominions is their true natures; wild, voracious beasts. I am still thankful to have been born in this country where people have been free to worship God and pursue their dreams. BUT, the Most High God is sovereign over the nations. He will raise up kings and bring them down in order to bring about His purposes in the earth. With what is happening in the Middle East it seems He has pushed a fast forward button. Could we, as Christian Americans, have slowed the downward spiral of our nation? Probably, but somehow I still think that the demise of America is right on schedule and we should be more concerned with our own alien status and being found ready for His imminent return. Maranatha
I agree completely with your article Don, thanks for posting it. Too many people, calling themselves Christians, stopped being salt and light in this country – the country God has placed us in. God has every righteous right to judge this nation…..and He isn’t to blame for the judgment…….it’s citizens are. In thinking about our country I am often reminded of this verse:
Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
While this verse speaks of the earth….I believe it’s appropriate to our nation. In essence, due to Christians losing their saltiness…..this nation is heading towards the second part of that verse.
It is both true – that Christians could have slowed the downward spiral and that it (the demise) is right on time according to Gods program…….yet that doesn’t absolve us of our responsibility in the matter. Our citizenship is truly in heaven and in that respect we are aliens in this land….but read the old testament – even an alien had rights and responsibilities, therefore our alien status doesn’t absolve us of our responsibility while God has us here either. He has us here precisely to be salt and light……it is therefore our God given duty to be such. Which again brings us to Matthew 5:13.
This one is especially disturbing:
> The vast majority of so called Christians in this nation have never read through the Bible even once in their entire lives.
Let alone, in likely a majority of churches, they don’t even use the King James Bible – instead, they use some corrupt water’d-down form.
I even force myself to glean what I can from “Numbers”;
Don, your analysis of this situation is irrefuteable and so undenialably correct that I actually got chills reading it. I honestly beleive you partially missed your calling. You are most definitely a Watchman; you would make a spectacular Pastor. There are times where sheep need to be led from out of one pasture filled with their own manure to better ground where their sustiance isn’t mixed with the same. I believe you could lead them. Really.
Thanks Michael, but I was not called to be a pastor. That takes social skills and gifts that I do not have. I am called to be a watchman and a Internet teacher.
Jim, glad your surgery went well. Yeah, I get the feeling we are going to end up with the same slate of choices in 2012.
i think the fraud is even higher in the eu but those points above clearly describle america in detail of how anti god it has became. in money we trust=america
The meaning of life is to know the majesty and dominion of Jesus Christ. That’s all there is to it.
If you spurn God (if you spurn His son, you spurn God), if you won’t read His word, then you reject spending eternity with Him (in all 3 persons). That’s all there is to it.
The country and the world are getting what frightening prophesies have been written, and by the looks of things, it’s looming shortly.
The Wisconsin fiasco just proves to what lengths of lawlessness the wicked (particularly the DEMs) will commit in order to spurn God.
I will add this: having seen the gay pride parade in Chicago more than three times, I want to say that I do not like the spectacle of it. The gay pride parade in Chicago goes beyond being a head held pride of sinners! It is a gross, nasty display of all sorts of ill clad, flagrant body language and nasty comments parade.
The media always shows homogenized video for broadcast on televison news programs.
most christans will be left behind at the rapture
Don, I am curious as to what qualifies for the rapture, as I’m under the impression that if you are a genuine Christian (accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour… more technically, those who believe God and are ‘credited as having faith’ like Abraham versus those who only believe that a God exists – which is technically all humans, whether they admit it or not), then you will be raptured.
In a prior blog, you commented: “if you’re not looking for the rapture, you won’t be” (or something to that effect, I forget the exact quote). Well, in my mind, if you are not looking for the rapture, then, simply, you don’t believe God. But, it’s not like I’m stopping everything just to be looking (e.g., two are working in a field and one is caught up).
So, I guess I would be a little confused as to whether there are some other conditions – which would seem a little off as I have read the scriptures to my own level of ascertainment.
??
There are just to many variables to be dogmatic about who is going in any pretrib Rapture. Those in the body of Christ that are living for Jesus when He comes will certainly be going. Those who think they are in Christ but are living like the Devil should not be so presumptions.
When Enoch was taken and did not see death it was because He was walking with God. The others who also believed in God were left on earth to go through the flood.
Also there are four churches of the seven in Revelation that still have a future fulfillment. Of those four only the church type identified with Philadelphia is promised to be kept out of the trial that will come on all that dwell on earth.
The other three church types that remain on earth in the end times apparently will go through some trial on earth.
Jesus gives us warning to watch and pray that we may be counted worthy to escape what is coming on the earth for a reason. I think the Rapture is a reward and not a right. Lest anyone disagree and say the Bride all must be taken before any part of the tribulation. I would caution that the Bride is not even married until sometime in the Great tribulation. So perhaps those that are displeasing to the Lord when He appears will not escape the fifth seal persecution and they will get there though death like did all the other member in the body of Christ before the Rapture.
Having said that, I do not think any in Christ will have to endure the wrath of God since we are not appoint for wrath. This is for unbelievers that will not allow Jesus to rule over them.
There are three examples of Church types that indicate that the Church will go through some end time tribulation.
Jesus said to Thyatira:
To Sardis:
To Laodicea:
The dead in Christ; were they all faithfull, were they all ‘good’ christians, did they all live the Philadelphian life? No.
Will they all be part of this same great event? 1Thessalonians 4:15-17 is an all inclusive statement therefore there can be no doubt of that.
I see the rapture as the resurrection of the Church – the resurrection of all who are ‘in Christ’.
I agree that the passages quoted have a certain mystery to them but surely the condemnation and judgement inherent in those verses are covered by such passages as 1Corinthians 3:12-15; 2John 1:8?
Brain,
Opps I left out a key point. They were not all faithful but they all died. Those that are Raptured will not die.
That passage was an exhortation to believers that will reap what was spoken about. For in the same passage it says
So why tell us to be sober and to put on the breastplate of faith and love and the hope of salvation if all will do it? obviously some claiming to be Christians will not do that. That is also implied in the 10 virgin parable and elsewhere.
Also that same passage clearly implies that it is talking about escaping the events of the “Day of the Lord” That is the time when God’s wrath is pour out.
The Day of the Lord in Bible prophecy is always the last 42 months. Nobody is suggesting the Church will go through the day of the Lord on earth because we are not appointed to go through God’s wrath. Nevertheless, the 5th seal comes before the “Day of the Lord” and it indicates a great time of persecution of believers.
Like I implied, some want to make this Rapture of all Christians black and white but there are just two many shades of gray. Those that are dogmatic about all Christians being snatched before the last seven years have very little Biblical foundation. they really are reading into passages what they think. But, they may be wrong.
As for it being the Resurrection of the Church. Sure. But to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord so the First Resurrection has been going on since Jesus rose and those that die in the tribulation for Jesus will also be in the first resurrection. Whether the tribulation saints will be part of the Body of Christ is debatable. It would appear that the 144,000 are, since they are called first fruits of God and the Lamb and they will live in the Holy City.
Sorry Don, but you have me totally confused.
If Christians were not confused on Eschatology they would all agree, but in fact, I know of none that agree on everything.
Here is a trustworthy statement. If you know that you are a Christian and you are living by faith you have no reason to fear being left behind on earth if you are still alive at the time of the Rapture. If you are not, you have every reason to fear being left behind to endure the end time trials.
The just shall live by faith, but it seems that many today are living on presumptions based on their own rapture speculations. That is why so many people tell me that they know for sure that the Rapture will come this year or next and they know for sure that they will be going because their eschatology leaves nobody behind.
They do not think they are going because they walked in faith like Enoch and God took them. They think they are going because of their faith in their eschatological viewpoint.
Yet, Jesus said:
Thank you for helping me understand what you were saying! I’m
clear now 🙂
Hopefully we will begin means testing for social security and medicare.
And we need to dramatically reduce our foreign military bases and bring back our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1989 we never realized a peace dividend. There was no remaining world power left to effectively threaten the USA. Instead our leaders along with the military industrial complex just kept spending. With annual military spending close to $700 billion a year we spend more than the rest of the world combined.
Straight from GAO, the military budget is only 17% to 19% of the total budget. Social spending accounts for the rest. Medicare/Medicaide is 58% of the budget. Almost the entire budget is wasted on social spending for which the constitution NEVER authorized. There are only a few things the constitution authorizes for spending, and military (provide for the national defense) is clearly authorized.
The so-called stimulus spent 800 billion in one year – that was $$$ thrown away (there was a list on foxnews.com a while back… what a complete waste…. tens of millions went to south america… it was insane spending on programs that have nothing to do with reality as we know it).
The bulk of all [social] $$$ are wasted on recipients that would be better off without it.
Now you’ve got Obama and the DEMs wasting 58 billion on a rail that will ultimately fail – one EMP will wipe out any rail transport. Yet, not any public funding for something as crucial as hardening the power grip. Absolutely insane what Obama/DEMs spending priorities are. They have nothing to do with betterment of the country whatsoever.
There’s a parallel to the rapture discussion above, particularly preparedness versus “the cares of this world”.
Tim
Means testing social security and Medicare is a breach of contract with all those that were paying into this insurance policy. This was to be insurance and there was to be a SS Trust Fund full of the surplus premiums taken in over the years. But, our untrustworthy government robbed the Trust Fund and replaced it with IOU’s which means that taxpayers will now have to come up with the shortfall because their government robbed the Trust Fund for other programs. So now people want to means test an insurance annuitiy that we already purchased by paying our Social Security taxes over our entire lives.
If the government does not want to pay the insurance policy annuities then they should give the people back the premiums they paid in plus the interest over all those years.
By the way, the government was not doing this blindly. this slimy practice of using the Security Security Trust Funds for other government programs was brought up many times but the majority of your elected representatives always voted to misappropriate the funds.
First, put all that did this in jail and have them and those that might have received their estates pay restitution to the Social Security Trust fund for what they misappropriated and then I might be more inclined to support means testing.
Don – I agree with everything you said about SS/medicare. I’m well aware of the what the situation is. The problem is that the money is gone and going after those responsible for the malfeasance of office, as correct as that is, will not bring those funds back. I think the point you made about SS/medicare being a separate fund is key here. SS/medicare should not be part of the govt budget process.
Craig – Since SS/medicare is an Insurance Trust Fund which requires it’s own accounting the figures for SS/medicare need to be adjusted out of the govt budget. As you say in your post above the Govt has no constitutional right to provide these items. And, the govt doesn’t provide ss/medicare out of income taxes, instead the govt collects these ss/medicare taxes holds them in a trust fund and then disburses them to eligible recipients just like an insurance company. The govt is just returning the insurance premiums paid back to the people.
Therefore these items need to be pulled out of the govt budget in order to properly analysis the remaining legitimate constitutional functions of govt that remain in the budget. Which is what I will do below.
Here is a link to the govt budget for the upcoming year.
http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/budget_gs.php
Notice total spending of $3,818. billion
From this lets subtract $800 billion for pensions. (Social Security)
Under the Health Care tab there is Medicare for Seniors of $494 billion, subtract this too.
The remaining legitimate govt budget after subtracting out SS/medicare is $2,516 billion.
What’s left in the budget of $2,516 billion?
Defense of $965 billion, or 38.3%
Welfare of $835 billion, or 33.2% (488+347)
Interest of $207 billio, or 8.2%
All else of $509 billion,or 20.3%
We have a deficit shortfall of something like $1,700 billion
What are you going to cut from the above budget to get us close to being balanced?
And don’t tell me SS/medicare, Like Don says that money was paid in and retired people are entitled to get their money back, after all it’s their money.
We can balance the budget by making the necessary adjustments to defense, welfare and by means testing SS/medicare. If we don’t make the necessary adjustments soon the bond market will force it on us.
Peace and health.
The 51st way the goose is cooked: failing to take national security seriously or mis-using true national security needs for other agendas (particularly Obama’s / GOV control and conditioning). The heritage foundation report(s) on dealing with the threat of EMP and other top threats that Don’s web site outlines do a good job of detailing what the nation MUST do NOW (well, a year or two ago).
Hi Don
After reading the last two comments I realize we have moved away from the subject of your article, but bear with me this once.
Was Christ resurrected when he commended his spirit to the Father, or was it sometime early on the first day of the week when he rose bodily from the grave?
If it is a ‘bodily’ resurrection then no church age saint has yet done so; if resurrection is from death then neither were Enoch or Elijah, or for that matter (and I take your point) neither would those be who are ‘alive’ and remain unto the coming of the Lord (1Thes. 4:15).
1Cor. 15:23 makes resurrection appear to be from death (Chist being the firstfruits) with a general resurrection of the Church age saints at the coming of Christ.
Yes we all assume things from Scripture, but are we right in our assumptions? Time will tell.
At this point I will assume that, “this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality’ (1Co 15:53) is in regard to the resurrection of the Church entoto.
As you say there is always disagreement over this field of Biblical study so we should enjoy our own, and each other’s assumptions with caution but keep our faith in the essentials.
Regards
I agree that the scripture teaches that we must physically arise like Jesus did. Yet, some Old Testament saints apparently did rise like Jesus did after Jesus rose (Mt 27:52). I also know there is another explanation for this verse – some would say they died again or were just spirits, but who really knows for sure?
I agree that the Church age Saints will rise at the coming of the Lord but that does not necessary mean the Body of Christ is complete at the pretrib Rapture. We really cannot even be dogmatic about just when Jesus comes as a thief. Because it appears that this applies to the pretrib Rapture unless you read Revelation literally in context and then Jesus appears to come as a thief prewrath (unless you make this one verse an aside for no apparent reason like Lahaye does). Some even think there are two or more Raptures or resurrections of the saints and they may be correct. After all, we do know the two witnesses arise from the dead at the mid trib point. And what does Rev 16:15 really mean? And we also know the tribulation Saints will rise again and live with Christ in the Millennium. All this is different phases of the first resurrection.
People should believe what they think the scriptures are saying to them but I still do not think that people should presume that they are going in the Rapture because they think they are in the Church but they are living as if Jesus did not exist. Nevertheless, I am not saving that because they missed the pretrib rapture they they are not of the saved, nor would I be so dogmatic as to say they will not be part of the Church.
But, your right, this is way off topic.
