Jeremiah 25:12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon,
and that nation, saith Jehovah, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it desolate
for ever.
Note: the seventy years are 70 weeks of years, one week is yet to be fulfilled (see Daniel)
Zechariah 5:7 (and, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead); and this is a woman sitting in the midst
of the ephah.
8 And he said, This is Wickedness: and he cast her down into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of
lead upon the mouth thereof.
9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came forth two women, and the wind was in their wings;
now they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the ephah between earth and heaven.
10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
11 And he said unto me, To build her a house in the land of Shinar: and when it is prepared, she shall be set there
in her own place.
Isaiah 13:20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall shepherds make their flocks to lie down there.
Jeremiah 50:3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they are fled, they are gone, both man and beast.
Jeremiah 50:13 Because of the wrath of Jehovah she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
Jeremiah 51:26 And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith Jehovah.
Jeremiah 51:62 and say, O Jehovah, thou hast spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that none shall dwell therein, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.
Revelation 18:17 for in an hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that saileth any whither, and mariners, and as many as {1} gain their living by sea, stood afar off, {1) Gr work the sea}
Revelation 18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, wherein all that had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
Daniel 9:27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the {1} oblation to cease; and {2} upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate. {1) Or meal-offering 2) Or upon the pinnacle of abominations shall be etc}
